The second reason I agree with the source is because the government often manipulates its people and prys at their patriotism in order to control how they think and act. One example is Hitler who regulated what the public of Germany was to know and not know. Hitler often withheld information from the people of Germany, and instead told them only of the “benefits” and the “good” that was being accomplished for their people. World War Two was a very catastrophic time period for most people, especially Jews. Millions of Jews were taken hostage and were killed. This War was thought to be “The most widespread and deadliest war in history” (World War II). Hitler created and led many disastrous events and a great deal of people suffered because of it. In 1939, Hitler invaded Poland, starting the war for the next heinous six years (World War II). He had a strong desire for world domination (World War II History) and would do anything to get it. World War Two was a very serious and devastating war, millions were killed out of spite.

Hitler and the Nazis used propaganda to suppress the Jews’ freedoms and human rights. Films portrayed Germans as powerful and mighty while showing the Jews to be “subhuman creatures” (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 1). German newspapers portrayed Jews in their cartoons as anti semitic caricatures while radios played Hitler’s manipulative speeches all over Germany. By dehumanizing Jewish people through propaganda, Hitler was able to encourage Germans to support the Nazis and look down on the Jews. Without propaganda, less people would have been motivated to support Hitler.

Hitler utilized labelling to essentially create trigger words for the audience, to further provoke them into associating the relevant group with the traits related to that label. This allowed him to maintain the support and attention of his audience, and showed the level of command he had over his audience as he could evoke certain feelings, and promote certain ideas about groups based simply on the use of certain labelling words. These words added to Hitler’s tactics of persuasion by creating word association. When referring to Germany, he used words that conveyed strength. When speaking about enemy nations or about Jews and Marxists, he used words that alluded to weakness. One of his most used labels, pacifist, was used to refer to anyone and everyone that he disagreed with.

Imagine being in a concentration camp over nothing. You don’t get enough food, you’re worked almost to death, the guards treat you like animals, and you have to be in one spot all the time. There is disease and crowding and lice everywhere. The Jewish people were sent to concentration camps for no reason. The Nazis hit them over nothing and put them in concentration camps. Jewish people were sent to concentration camps because Adolf Hitler hated them. A Jewish doctor tried to save his mother, but could not. He also hated Jews because he thought Germany lost World War I because of the Jews. Adolf Hitler hated Jews because they were different and he thought they didn’t want the Germans to win.

What is the irony of the scene in the classroom when the children are discussing Hitler and the persecution of the Jews?

The Nazis wanted to create a society of healthy and strong individuals that could make Germany the “master race”.  They believed that there was no place for the weak and disabled. The physically and mentally handicapped were viewed as "useless" to society. They were seen as a threat to genetic purity, and, ultimately, unworthy of life ("The Holocaust”). They wanted to make sure that they had only strong and healthy people available to them if they had to put together an army and go to war.  Hitler believed that Germany would rule the world one day. He thought that only people of German blood should live in Germany. He also wanted to rid Germany of the mentally and physically disabled because they were seen as imperfect and a drain on their resources.

There are many horrible things and evil people that have existed in this world, but not many of them add up to the type of evil that Adolf Eichmann was.

To what extents did Hitler’s love of racial purity go? Who was willing to meet these expectations? Where were these catastrophic results contained, if they were contained at all? The program was aptly named Lebensborn, or “fount of life”. Over 20,000 children came into the world as a result of the Lebensborn Program. The Lebensborn Program was an attempt to ensure Hitler’s Germanic empire, one of the most awful men in history headed this event, and Lebensborn spread like a virus over Europe.

A third promise of Hitlers was that he would provide more living space. Hitler believed that Germany required more living space, or "Lebensraum", in order to survive. Instead of adding colonies to make Germany bigger, Hitler wanted to enlarge Germany within Europe. Hitler stated that the Soviet Union was run by the Jews, thus Germany had a right to take Russian land. With more living space, it was believed that this would make Germany stronger: stronger military, and built high hopes that Germany would become economically self-sufficient with the newfound wealth of food and raw material sources.

The lebensraum can be defined simply as the living space for the German Race in the east (Module 12, WWII Part III). However, the term lebensraum can run a bit deeper than the aforementioned definition, as it in a way became ingrained into Hitler’s ideologies and strategies. Notions surrounding lebensraum would soon become a means of strategic measures after Germany had managed to take over Poland (Module 12, WWII Part III). Many people would be relocated and replaced with German people. Moreover, Hitler would view the Jewish people as an obstacle to achieving lebensraum (Lyons, pg. 47).

Imprisoning ex-nazi soldiers is a topic that affects people worldwide as people committed crimes which changed history. Some people are against their imprisonment as they are fragile and old while others are wanting them to be imprisoned to give closure to the families of those mistreated and brutalised. In this research report the attitudes that nazis have towards jewish now is discussed as well as who is fighting to get the nazis imprisoned and the penalties for those who have committed crimes. The influence this topic has will add another triumph to the liberation of Jews in the history of nazi Germany.
