Martin Luther King, Jr. wanted equality for all men African American and white. He wanted to end the racial segregation that had so much violence behind it. He also wanted America to be free of violence where no one was dying because of their skin color. He gave his most famous speech, “I Have a Dream” to bring awareness to people to have world peace. His dream was to have everyone love one another and have respect for each other as they are equal. How did Martin Luther King Jr’s speech impact the world?
Martin Luther King, Jr.’s gave his most famous speech, “I Have a Dream” on August 28, 1963. This speech was give on the Lincoln Memorial steps in Washington D.C. Dr. King Jr. wanted to put a dreaded end to racial injustice and make America non-violence. Dr. King Jr. himself was colored and he was not just talking to the colored he was speaking to whites as well. He was speaking of the urgency of: changing the way African American people are judged by their skin, change their freedom, and change America to non-violence. Dr. King Jr. was worried that if it wasn’t taken care of now it would go another hundred years before it was taken care of. Martin Luther King, Jr. emphasizes, “Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation” (1). King repeats himself to make his audience aware of making this happen.
