When I think of great people who have helped others worldwide, many people come into my thoughts. However, one person stands out from the rest for me: Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa was a very influential person who went above her call of duty by helping people and forming the Missionaries of Charity.
The Catholic Church has helped many people who are in need that would have died if they did not help. In general, millions of Christians and Catholics all around the world help many people who need help in many things. Catholic communities worldwide help people almost everywhere, making the Catholic Church's influence in people's lives very large. The Catholic Church, in general, will always go outside the normal boundaries to help those in need. Catholic saints, such as St. Francis of Assisi, St. Vincent de Paul, and most recently, St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, are great examples of this. Mother Teresa's love for the poor and those in need makes her one of the best

On September 10, 1946, Mother Teresa received what she termed the "call within a call". It said to start the Missionaries of Charity. The Missionaries of Charity was founded on October 7, 1950. It was a new congregation that she founded and that started in India but eventually spread across the globe, mostly in Europe and Africa. People everywhere sent donations to the Missionaries of Charity, therefore allowing them to expand and most importantly, build schools, homes, charity centers, and clinics. Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity are also a proud defender of unborn children's rights. She worked to stop abortion by sending a clear message that abortion is an evil act and should be condemned in multiple ways. She died on September 5, 1997, in Calcutta, due to her poor state of health. The Missionaries of Charity eventually became an international organization and still continues to spread hope today, even after Mother Teresa's
The Catholic Church has long helped those in need. The Church's love for the poor has long been part of her constant tradition. The Church urges us to go the extra mile and help those in need. The church has held many prosperous charities. The church has also eheld many food drives and other types of donation events. They do this quite often actually.
The Catholic Church has many people who went to the peripheries. These people went out of there way to help people who needed them the most. They helped in churches across the world, gave supplies to the poor, and asked God to help the people who are sick and in need of assistance. Even if people made fun of them and shut them out of their community, they listened to Gods word and did what they thought Jesus would do.
In more ways than one, Mother Teresa shows the qualities of being an incredible mentor to others (Hentschel).
Catholic Relief Services began as an effort, led by Catholic Bishops from the United States, to aid those who survived the traumatic events of World War II in European countries. Since 1943, this organization has evolved in mission, purpose, and vision in order to provide assistance to indigent individuals in foreign countries, promote social development, and help better the morals of the world through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Not only does Catholic Relief Services deliver their guidance and comfort to those living in other countries, but this organization also encourages those residing in the United States to fulfill their moral obligation to help the less fortunate in any way that they can. Based on the mission, purpose, and vision
I have always enjoyed listening to stories and reading about people who gave up all they could to change the lives of people in their home countries and even in other countries. I especially love reading about Mother Teresa and all the charitable work that she did. Even after her death, she is still remembered for all that she did and the lives she touched with her work. Her story really inspires me and makes me strive to be the kind of person who will be remembered for positively influencing and changing the lives of other people.
Against her father’s wishes, Teresa ran away to become a nun of the Carmelite Order. Although the convent was crowded, she started right away teaching people the power of mental prayer. She did not just teach women, as nuns often did, but men as well. She did not want to entertain people; instead she wanted to change people’s lives. “She guided nuns not just through strict disciplines, but also through the power of love, and common sense” (Pettinger, 2010). She had a heart
She got permission from the church to found the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, and kept working to better the world through this organization. It was created to have Catholic women dedicate themselves and their lives to the less fortunate in the world, and work to make their lives better through their actions and hard work. Mother Teresa organized this whole group, which still works today with massive numbers behind it, so her impact on society is still not over; she is still touching peoples’ lives because of her love of God and her desire to make a difference in all the lives that she ever came in contact

In Calcutta, and around the world, Mother Teresa aided poor, dying and sick through her love for everyone, and the vow of poverty as her influence. A nun, though the vow of poverty, is to imitate Jesus in his helping of those that were poor and suffering. Though Mother Teresa was poor herself, she tried, and
The Roman Catholic Church has changed history an incredible amount, especially in the twentieth century. It did not affect one single region of the world but many. The whole world went through drastic changes in the twentieth century such as the economic downfalls, destruction of governments, and failure of political systems. Through the economic and spiritual support of many different Catholic charities, such as The Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Church came to the aid of many people in need and changed the course of history. The Catholic Church also experienced the most influential people during this time period. Pope John Paul II influenced the whole world. Also Mother Theresa contributed to society in many different ways. It was not just a specific person that aided people in need but also the church as a whole. The world experienced so many tragic things in this time period. The world went through two world wars and an economic collapse. The Catholic Church was the rock people needed during these stressful times and it did not change. The Catholic Church has influenced people’s lives for the better since it’s beginning. It helped build new countries and repair the old ones. It helped rebuild governments and tea down dictators. Through the twentieth century the world went through many horrible things. One of them was communism. The Catholic Church helped put an end to communism in some parts of the world. It shed light on the evils of men and gave
Mother Teresa was born in Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Macedonia. By 18 she was already serving others as a nun. Later she left with permission to serve the poorest of the poor in Calcutta with nothing to give but her love. She did not care that she was doing it alone with no funds- she just wanted to love them and be there for them. She was so inspiring that people began to fund her work and to come as volunteers. She served till the end and still influences people today.. Her life was the definition of heroism, her life was service and she gave her all to the poor of Calcutta and other poverty stricken areas. She loved all who came to her with an open heart. And that is what made her the hero she is and was- still touching others with the story of her life
Mother Teresa gave up everything to live a simple life to serve those who need more than she did. Along with looking after others, mothers are the willing to do things for others just to see them happy. Mothers say yes to lots of things they don’t have to just to make others happy. Mother Teresa realized this when God
The role of the Catholic Church going to the peripheries is huge for the community. First off, the Catholic Church helps those in need by donating to people who don’t have shelter, or people who don’t have food or water to drink. They also help by holding volunteer work, so people who want to help those in need can by being there. Another thing the Catholic Church does to help those in need is praying. Some people get together to help those in need by asking the Lord to help them. Others pray for them by themselves to help for those in need. The Catholic Church is very generous for being there when people are in need. The Catholic church greatly represents the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. They would help feed the hungry by bringing goods to those who need it. The Church can give drink to the thirsty by not wasting water. The Catholic Church helps people to shelter the homeless by collecting supplies they need. They can clothe the naked by donating clothes to those who don’t have enough. The Church can visit the sick and imprisoned giving blood and spending time volunteering at nursing homes. They bury the dead by sending a card to to someone who has lost a loved one. Finally, the Catholic Church give alms to the poor by donating money, like a the poor box in the Church. The Spiritual Works of Mercy can also represent the Catholic Church helping those in need. Overall, the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy really represent how the Catholic Church helps those in need, and the Church is a good role model for all Catholics alike.
Mother Teresa is one of the most written about and publicized women of the 20th century. She is the second most advertised religious celebrity after Pope John Paul II. Due to her fame, many people willingly step forward to offer their support and praise her work.
There are many people in this world that we consider great humanitarians. Mother Teresa was a unique individual that stood out of the crowd because of her involvement in helping the sick, poor and dying. She spent everyday of her adulthood caring for people that were in need by setting up the Missionary of Charity along with many homes for the people she cared for. Mother Teresa won many awards throughout her lifetime for her dedication to care for people in need. It is no wonder that Mother Teresa won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and is considered a saint.
