Rough Draft For music to endure for centuries it has to have, in addition to wondrous sound, but an image of its composer that electrifies for generations. Rock N Roll has it all, yet to understand it deeply we must understand the fathers. Chuck Berry plunged his guitar into his amp and turned the hairs of his audience electric. Elvis Presley, the heartthrob of the south would give Rock N Roll its image for the next decade while America started to find out who it was and what their bleak future had in store for them. Chuck Berry had a distinct sound that gave him an edge in finding his audience. He began using the call-and-response with his volume pumped up guitar. He would evoke not just image but raw skill where he can make his guitar do the singing for him while he’s accompanied by his backing band. Elvis Presley never did write many of his songs. Most were written by his bandmates yet Elvis gave the music its charm and eventually its glorified time. He put Rock N Roll in the spotlight of pop audiences and drew out audiences consisting of young teenage girls who adored his good looks yet also bringing out the image of cool for boys to imitate. Rock N Roll exists today because of the endless feelings that is generated by us human beings and also because the image of all the artists throughout its history has left an impact on the memories of generations.
