The American Dream is when someone's hard work, attitude, and determination leads to success and achieving their goals and their happiness. Steve Jobs has achieved the American Dream because his attitude and determination led him to achieve his goals and even more than he hoped for. The American Dream is achieving goals set and being happy. "Some say that the American Dream has become the pursuit of material prosperity." This may be achieving goals and being happy to some people. However, material possessions only bring people short term happiness. People should try and achieve long term happiness. "Yet others look toward a new American Dream with less focus on a financial gain and more emphasis on living a simple, fulfilling life." I agree with the people that believe this because most of the American Dream has to do with happiness. As long as the persons happy, they've achieved the American Dream.
