I don't agree with this quote at all. The american revolution was a radical event and did change the American society and the world. The American Revolution was something that would change the world after it. The most simple way of looking at how radical this event was, is to think of what the world would be like if there wasn't an America today. Maybe if there hadn't been an America we wouldn't be here today technologically or politically. The term democracy is a pretty new term usage-wise, though the word's origin is from the Greek Language the use of it started getting popular from around the 1800's and I don't think that it's a coincidence that the American Revolution was in 1783, right around that time.

The American Revolution changed the political and social aspects of the United States. After the war ended many things changed in the states. From the political stand point women still had power but gained a few rights after the war and since the states where now free from British rule they could now create their own form of central government and elected a leader. On the social and economical side the belief of egalitarianism was widely being accepted, and mercantilism ended so the colonies were no longer forced from imported and export goods to England.
Emma Baubly United States History 9/17/14 Period 2 There is lot of controversy between whether or not The American Revolution had a significant enough of a movement from the British tyrany to American independence. The American Revolution, between 1775 and 1783, was a movement vital to the creation of the United States; however, many would disagree about the extent to which it was revolutionary. The American Revolution was revolutionary to the extent that it changed social expectations and property rights of the country; however, the economic state the colonies were in was not a revolutionary change. One can observe the little changes that were made to the economic conditions prior to and post American Revolution. From the lack of sufficient change to the economic conditions, it is clear that The American Revolution was not an economic revolution but rather an alteration of whom was giving power to the rich.
Many people all around the world believe that the American Revolution was the most important event in history. It founded the United States of America, started guerilla warfare, and greatly altered social expectations. Yes, slavery would still be in existence for years to come but except for that, the Revolution definitely changed society for the good and the bad, it organized abolitionist movements and affected many people changing their lives forever. During the Revolution many historical events occurred for example; The Boston Massacre, The battle of Saratoga, and The Tax Act. Throughout our history class we have learned a lot about the Revolution and were able to settle our argument with all of the documents
For some British thinkers, the word “Democracy” was directly used for referring to the “House of Commons” unlike in the early American Revolution where the word “Democracy” was referred to as the greater equality inspired by the struggle for independence. Democracy did not exist in the colonies before the Revolution because political status was directly related to wealth. Special qualifications were supposed to be met in order to be eligible to vote or to be sitting in an assembly.
The Revolutionary War was very radical and revolutionary. In addition to this, it was the spark for change to come. The government was most affected and then there was social change and this overall changed the economy. In document #2 it explains how the government will depend on the opinions of people and not be inherited. This supports the people’s rights to speak out and have happiness through their choices. In document #1 it shows how people supported abolishing the old form of government. Socially, the classes (rich, middle, and poor) changed drastically. In documents #3 and #4 it shows how the different classes were more mixed after the revolution and how the classes evened out and different classes became the most common. For example, the moderate/middle class became more common than an extreme amount of people in the poor and wealthy classes.
During the Enlightenment many changes were happening. There were breakthroughs in all sciences not just medicine. Old ideas and theories were replaced with more modern ways. New medicines were developed and new treatments were tested. Some of the discoveries are still in use today with more modern machinery and diagnostic tools. This was an exciting age for all sciences.
During the time period of 1775 to 1800, the American Revolution changed American society in many political, economical, and social ways.
Many Americans in this day and age recognize that the Revolutionary War was a crucial point in their history. But the question still stands. Did this war truly shift America as a whole? To an extent, the Revolutionary War did shift America and the lifestyle of many but only in favor to the white male. The Revolutionary War is not as revolutionary as one would think because it did not change or improve the lives of minorities such as African Americans, Native Americans, and women until centuries later.
The Revolutionary War changed the course of American history and was a very trying time but without it, America would not be what it is today. The men who fought the war and the founding fathers who created the America are often talked about. The women of the Revolution are hardly talked about. How roles did they play before, during and after the war? Before the Revolution, the women of the colonies have no civil rights and were in charge of keeping the household in order.
The American Revolution was the point of change in the world. It was the first time that a democratic government was developed and tested in a time where monarchies ruled Europe and it was the time when the world saw that the concept of democracy could lead to the fundamental change in society, specifically politically, socially, and economically. However, even though it was the point in change for the world, to what extent did it change American society politically, socially, and economically in the period between 1775-1800? The answer is that political, social, and economic effects of the American Revolution impacted society to different extents and established ideas that would later influence future movements and changes in America.
In my opinion, the American Revolution was the most significant event in United States history. The American Revolution had many historical events that occurred that merit why it is most significant such as the creation of documents such as The Declaration of Independence, Treaty of Paris, Constitution, and Bill of Rights as well the battles that led to freedom. These documents all represent the freedom that America has today. However, what if these documents never existed and what if all of these events never occurred.
The term “democracy” had multiple definitions, including a government that was directly governed by the people. This term was used more often during the American Revolution to inspire the struggle for independence.
Christopher Hitchens claims that “… the American Revolution is the only revolution that still resonates”and this claim is valid because the American Revolution led to democratic ideals and governments being spread across the world, it set the precedent of equality in our country, and it set it up to be the world power it is today.
Democracy has been around for almost 2500 years since Athens, Greece became the first democracy. The Romans also experimented with democracy, however it was more a republic, and not a democracy. Around 1200 England laid the groundwork to become a republic. Later, in the 1700's,
Changes from the American Revolution The American Revolution was viewed by many as purely a military struggle, but it in fact brought about a change in virtually every aspect of 18th-century life. The American Revolution not only affected America, but also had an impact on life around the world during the 18th century. While the war affected every aspect of life, the American economic, political, and social systems were impacted to the greatest extent. The American economy was greatly affected by the American Revolution.
