How did the Beatles impact society? The Beatles were possibly the most influential band of all time. As proven by the LA Daily News, “The Beatles had a profound effect on American music culture.” The Beatles influenced society by their hair, their fashion, and with live concerts.
First the Beatles influenced society by their hair. The Beatles hairstyle was a “mop top” because it resembled a mop, it was a mid-length haircut. Because of their immense popularity the hairstyle was imitated worldwide between 1964 and 1966. The hairstyle even led to toy manufactures making plastic Beatle wigs. But soon after the “Fab Four” hit America. Most teenage boys wanted to grow the Beatles hairstyle. The Beatles made long hair acceptable for men even desirable (The Fiscal Times).

They had a compilation album with every British and American number 1 Beatles’ hit. The album was released November 13, 2000. It was the fastest selling album of all time. There were 3.6 million albums sold in the first week and 13 million were sold within a month. In at least 28 countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States, it was number 1. In all of the Beatles fame they produced 15 number 1 hits and spent a total of 1,278 weeks on the charts.
