The Great Depression was a horrible event for all the countries that were affected. It had many reason it caused a downfall to the economies worldwide. One of the reason was the Stock Market Crash of 1929 that made that led to the Great Depression into losing more than $40 billion dollars. Bank Failures -was another reason. Americans in that time suffered greatly due to the financial crisis to have economic support.

The Great Depression was the perfect breeding ground for fear and chaos. The United States was drastically impacted, and no one could escape its wrath! The Great Depression not only affected the nation’s economy and way of life, but it also had a huge impression on people’s beliefs and attitudes. Life was a daily struggle, and Americans had to adapt and cope during hard times. People feared the unknown and had to be very resourceful. A landmark trial made headlines because “riding the rails” became a popular means of transportation.

The Great Depression affected many lives of americans and many others outside of the United States. The Great Depression first affected the people who were in the city. Then the depression reached the outsides of the cities and then the rural parts of the country. The wheat prices drop extremely. Then because of the poor farm practices from the many different plows used the Dust Bowl started. The Dust Bowl made it harder for farmers to survive in the Great Depression.

Throughout the decades, time has proceeded to change drastically on all social and economic levels. Most changes over the course of the years have been for the best, this country has gone through extreme economic downfalls and destruction along with the hard work to rebuild the nation. But everyone, no matter whether they were a man, a woman, or an african american, was affected in different ways, some ways worst than others. Everyone who lived through the Great Depression had a different experience for themselves. The women had a tougher time surviving than the men. The white men got jobs faster than the african americans. The african americans were the first fired and the last hired.

In the great depression many kids from all over the country were told or felt like leaving their home because of hard time that have faced their homes because the money was scarce. So they road the rail looking for work and trying to make money for the family. These were kids that were faced with hardship and having to worrying about where their next meal was coming from, they didn't know were they were going or what they would spend the night.

Instead of waking up to go to work, Americans were forced to search for jobs all day long because workplaces could not afford to to keep people employed.

On October 24, 1929; Black Tuesday; stockholders lost billions of dollars, banks began to fail, and unemployment increased rapidly. Furthermore, banks were failing because deposits in the bank was uninsured to where people lost their savings completely and banks that were open made life for people stricter based on how they communicated business. Moreover, many couples did not participate in being married during the Great Depression because of the low income being brought in and many people did not have children during this time.

The Great Depression was an economic crisis. Many people were worried about what they would feed their family, how they would pay bills, how the income would be for them, how they would keep their businesses going, and how they would keep their farms going. The Great Depression put many people in a state of depression, because the Depression was an utter disaster. Many stock markets crashed, and many people lost all their money. Many citizens and immigrants lived in Hoovervilles, which were cardboard boxes. The United States was in a form of depression physically and mentally.
