Not much has changed but the world grew more advanced the towns are growing bigger, and the days feel shorter. Some people's lives have ended and some have begun. The war has ended 6 years ago. The family you once knew is gone, but a new generation was born. And an island has formed in the Pacific ocean. Buildings have became bigger and made with more glass.
I do not think World War I came completely by surprise. The nations of Europe were forming alliances, mainly two camps, allied powers and triple alliances, were challenging each other for economic, military and imperial gains before the shots were fired of First World War. European states of the time and even the population and their politicians filled with nationalist pride and wanted to show off how far they have improved their armies and modern technologies that came with the second industrial revolution. I think the military leaders of the time wanted to test these new revolutionary machines and modern weapons in the battle field. It changed our world radically. These mechanized war machines were so effective; twenty-one thousand British soldiers died on the first day of the battle of the Somme.
The warfare of WWI affected society by causing crucial pain to many soldiers. Many soldiers came home limping and blind. When soldiers came home wives and children were distraught to see them in this condition. Everyone did not have hope in the United States winning this war anymore. One reason the soldiers came home blind was because of poisonous gas. The gas would slowly asphyxiate the soldiers, and the wind will blow the gas towards the villages where the civilians lived. So since the gas would spread to the villages the civilians would suffer for no reason. But, this is sort of the soldiers fault because they used this gas but it is not really their fault for the wind blowing the gas.
World War 2 has been one of the greatest wars in history. It affected many people besides the Jewish community. This war changed America in so many ways including culturally, socially, and technologically. During this war the United States acquired some allies and also enemies. In my opinion a “good war” would be a war that causes change, whether it is economically and so on.
World War Two brought about extreme changes to the United States. In many ways it changed how Americans acted and thought about themselves, thus making a statement to rest of the world. Moreover, World War Two strengthened the United States, and Federal Government. The Government took control of entire industries, According to Bernstein, “military leaders acted from a mixture of motives and attitudes—a desire to control the economy to guarantee military-supply programs” (Bernstein, 1967). They fixed Americans wages, rent, rationing of food, and other supplies.
How did the War affect Americans lives and continue to shape American lives in the 21st century in the following categories:
With war, there comes changes. Some changes are good, while others are bad. World War 1, also known as The ‘Great War’, changed America. Beginning in 1914 and ending in 1918, America witnessed much devastation. Many lives were lost, some countries faced a massive destruction of property and horrible economic depression.
World War II changed the American psyche from isolationism to wanting to go to war. Before America entered the war most people were isolationists, or against joining the war. With the Great Depression and the memories of the tragic losses from WWI not many people supported America’s involvement in oversea affairs. The ones who wanted to go to war were usually more radical and wanted to assert America’s power to show that we are the strongest country. Most people knew this was a bad idea being that this would just waste innocent lives. With the Japanese trying to take over Asia and the outbreak of war in Europe in 1939 tensions were beginning to rise. America wanted this to be a European problem and not to make it an American one. One
WW1 has changed a lot of different things that has changed society in some positive ways. One thing is how women and African Americans were viewed. During the war, both groups did different things to help and they got certain things out of it. Some things happened over seas, and some things happened here in America.

World War I had drastically changed American society. Women’s roles in society were changed as men were drafted or had joined the army. Racial tensions between whites and blacks significantly increased as racism and segregation were implemented. The government begain to take general control over its people in both their social and economic life. Three factors that drastically affected the American society were the changing roles of women, the increase of racial tensions, and the greater government intervention of its people.
During World War 2, there are many big events that took place and still affects the world today. One main event that really changed America was the draft, where the United States instituted the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940, which required all men between the ages of 21 and 45 to register for the draft. This drastically transformed the lives of almost every family in America, and to execute our skit we decided to do it on the draft. The main focus of our skit had to do with how war and the draft modified the emotions of the person be drafted and the families. We achieved this by adding the interviews to show how the person was personally feeling, and yes, we did have an addition of a “joke” interview as me.
December 7th, 1941. The day 2,403 lives were lost, including sixty eight civilians* would be marked forever in United States’ history. Today Americans remember this day as this as day Japan’s Navy Air Service attacked America’s Navy. Not only was society affected during this tragic day but because of the amount of ships and sailors lost, America was felt need to formally join World War II (WWII). This eventually leads to the world being forever altered.
Life in the United States today is beyond anything that could have been imagined one hundred years ago. Today’s society has been influenced by several factors, but the main contributor to the changes that have occurred in the last one hundred years is the World Wars. World War I and World War II were both dark, bloody stains left on the fabric of history, but from the ashes of these event came several changes that positively effected the United States. The war brought about several technological advances, boosted the economy, and varied the work force. During the World Wars, the key to staying ahead of your enemies was to have better technology.
Things that happened years ago have all changed to nowadays; either by a few changes but still very similar or dramatically changed in a positive way.
World War I (1914-1918) was a war that changed world history forever. The technological, industrial, social and political advances that took place at beginning of the 20th century paved the way for today 's world. And the parties involved in World War I used those advances to create one of the first modern wars. For those reasons World War I is referred to as many things including, an industrial war, a war of attrition, and as a total war. These aspects is what makes the war so revolutionary and groundbreaking and equally as devastating. A novel that helps illustrate each of these categories is All Quiet on the Western Front (1928), by Erich Maria Remarque. The author tells a German soldiers experiences through the war. The book does not
