The sale of guns it is a very important issue where all persons have to be very clear of the danger that these cause to society. I know every people have a different opinion about this point, but I think that the companies and persons that have license for sales guns they should have a system more efficient to make a background check of people that want to buy weapons, to avoid or reduce that innocent people get injured by persons who should no carry weapons. Today there are many assaults, robberies and deaths due to these sales. One of the crimes most terrifying in the history of the United States was the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. This crime occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20 year old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members. Now my question is, Why a boy of 20 years of age and mental health problem can buy weapons easily to kill all these innocent people? Now we put ourselves to think if this disaster of killings could not have avoided? I know it is late …show more content…
To all these owners that they don’t mind about people’s lives I would like to close their business. Also Thousands of guns are available for sale over the Internet, that is called black market. I remember when Barack Obama said that “all these sales of guns by internet are completely false”. Everything is possible at this moment, there are many illegal and bad things that people do not care about the consequences. Reedman Palmore said that: “ Individual freedom and the Bill of Rights do not justify assault weapons and automatic pistoles”. I totally agree with Mr Palmore. All these problems of murders and deaths only humans have all the blame because “guns don’t kill, people do”. Also “gun control will not stop violence because a violent person does not need a gun to be
On December 14, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut, a twenty year old man, Adam Lanza, went into Sandy Hook Elementary School and opened fire in two rooms. He murdered twenty children and seven adults before turning the gun on himself (Fahrenthold). Once again, if one of these teachers would have carried a firearm, they could have possibly saved the lives of the first graders and the adults that were murdered.
In the United States mass shootings has been a problem for the last few years especially school shootings which occurs often in the country. Why in this country? Well statistics shows that the United States has 31% of all public mass shootings from 1966 to 2012. Although, the percentage has gone up for the last five years. There is a higher risk of dying at school than at any public places. The government and the president of the United States are not treating this problem right and it has become a phenomenon in the country. According to the blog “I Am Adam Lanza’s Mother: A Mom’s Perspective On the Mental Illness Conversation In America” by Liza Long, she discusses her struggles with her mentally ill son and states the lack of help she was getting. She addresses the Sandy Hook incident in Newtown, Connecticut to relate it to her situation and how she fears her son might lead to murderous attack like the Sandy Hook shooting. Many of the causes that lead to school shootings are; lack of gun control, mental health & bullying, and definitely lack of protection at schools.
Not one person from Sandy Hook, Connecticut ever thought this sort of event would ever happen. On December 14, 2012, 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members in a mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Before the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Lanza shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at his home in Newtown, Connecticut. After the shooting, Lanza successfully committed suicide before he was detained. Which left, the state, officials, and the entire country to question why Lanza would do such a horrible act of violence to innocent children and staff members of the school. Also, questioning the security of schools, and even our country. There are many conspiracies of the
The tragedy that was felt across America when Adam Lanza went into Sandy Hook Elementary School to gun down 20 unarmed innocent children cannot be put into words. The author successfully
14, 2012. 20 lives were taken away between the ages 6-7 including 6 staff members by 20-year old Adam Lanza ( David Morgan). The Sandy Hook Elementary shooting was one of the worst shootings in U.S. history that prompted the controversial debate over gun control and whether there should be safer regulations on guns. Similarly, six years after the tragic shooting of the Sandy Hook, The Parkland, FL sought the same experience of an active shooter Nicholas Cruz 19-year old, contributing to the lost of 17 lives. Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students took action by protesting the rights to a stricter gun legislation that should have been enacted to protect the lives of students all around and stop the massive school shootings by letting the hands of the mentally disabled gain access to destructive weapons and cause fatal consequences at the end (“How Many More School Shootings”). Therefore, due to the series of school shootings gun laws should be
On December 14, 2012 Adam Lanza walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and started shooting. Before he even walked into the school he had already killed his mother Nancy Lanza. He shot her in the head and them left her home to go to Sandy Hook. That is how Adam Lanza’s day started and it got worse from there. Police don’t know what triggered the events that happened that day, but they do that he had a lot of mental diseases and he was also anorexic. Police do know that he planned the event out because he studied books about mass murders and played video games on school shootings. He didn’t plan what he was going to do when he walked inside Sandy Hook all he knew was that he was going to try and shoot someone. Adam Lanza acted alone in the

The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting which occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut is an atrocity that rattled the entire nation. 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children and six adult staff members with a gun that he obtained because his mother did not lock it up properly. Adam Lanza, without a doubt, is/was a sick and evil human being that preyed on young, helpless children. Their school was a gun free zone and those teachers and young students were defenseless. No other person in the school was armed besides Adam Lanza (CNN.com). Another awful and tragic mass shooting occurred on July 20, 2012, injuring 70 and killing 12 people. The murderer, James Eagan Holmes, had many options to

Adam shot and killed 20 children, 6 adults, his own mother, then killed himself. Investigators conducted a thorough investigation into Adam's life to determine motive for this tragedy. Media coverage of the Sandy Hook Tragedy heavily reported on Adam's mental status and his obsession with guns
Many remember December 14th of 2012 when Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 students and 6 members of the faculty of Sandy Hook Elementary School. Mr. Lanza was a troubled man, enough so that he was driven to shoot his own mother and take possession of her weapons which he would use to wreak havoc on the school whose name would go down in history. A report released...by Connecticut’s Attorney for the District of Danbury says...guns and ammunition involved...at Sandy Hook Elementary were legally purchased by Nancy Lanza [his mother] and then stolen by her son, Adam. One would have to be delusional to believe that Adam would not have found a way to inflict this violence, and that is the unfortunate reality; however, one must wonder whether or not
Newtown is a town of Fairfield County, Connecticut, located sixty miles outside of New York City. In the town there are approximately 27,560 people, and 8,325 households, with 44.5% of those households containing children under eighteen (Los Angeles Times). With this being said, Newtown is a fairly active community and never expected anything like this to come its way. Mass murderer, Lanza, shot his mom on his way to the school to then have access to her household guns. Around 9:30 A.M. he entered the school holding a Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle, openly firing his way in towards the main office (Sandy). He was dressed in all black clothes, a green utility vest, yellow earplugs and sunglasses. Principle, Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Sherlach were meeting with other staff members when they heard the gunshots. Hochsprung, Sherlach, and teacher Natalie Hammond went
In today’s society, one problem people face is the issue of gun control. My personal opinion on this topic is that I believe guns should not have more restrictions or be abolished from the people. We have “The right of the people to keep and bear arms” as said in the Second Amendment. Furthermore, the problem is not in the guns, but in the people. In addition, the public is filled with malevolent and dreadful people, and this is what causes distrust between us the public and the government. Citizens should not be punished because of other individual’s
It was a quiet morning of December 14, 2012 in Newtown, CT, USA during the usual winter weather in New England state, with people preparing for the Christmas holidays. What happened next has triggered consequences of starting the major debate on gun control with the creation of a presidential task force charged with recommending solutions to the problem of gun violence, and more specific, public mass shootings. That is when 20-year old tall and lanky man named Adam Lanza made his way to the Sandy Hook Elementary School and cold-bloodedly murdered 20 children between six and seven years old, as well as six adult staff members. Minutes before, he shot dead his own mother at their Newtown home… It was not neither first nor last of wanton mass killings of strangers/innocent bystanders (children) with deliberate attempt to deprive them of their lives without any tangible gain or explainable reasoning, motives happening in the US.
If the United States of America were to make the right to bear arms and legally own guns it would have a negative effect on society. By getting rid of ways to legally obtain guns and ammo it would increase the amount black market gun sales. Culturally in the United States we want the items were told we cannot have taking away guns would only fuel the desire to obtain numerous amounts of guns. We have already tried this type of method back in history and it wasn’t successful the prohibition in the United States was a nationwide ban on the production, importation and transportation and sale of alcoholic beverages (History). When this law was in place it didn’t stop individuals from consuming alcohol, they proceeded to drink illegally in unsafe
Just imagine sitting in a movie theater around midnight and suddenly some mad man comes in and begins shooting. On July 20, 2012 that’s what happened at a Century Movie Theater in Aurora Colorado, which resulted in about twelve people that lost their lives and about 58 other’s injured, including a baby. (Wikipedia, n.d.)There are several arguments that always comes up in the defense of gun use, which are guns don’t kill people, people kill people, guns reduce crime and that they are used for sporting reasons, like hunting. Although there is truth to those statements, the fact is that guns are used to inflect pain, intimidate, and threaten people and should be made harder to obtain. Because the federal
