Many people have been to a Feed my Starving Children, or a place like it. Even those who haven't are heroes. Everyone has done something heroic in their life. From returning a dropped wallet, to volunteering to make food, people who help keep our community a nice place are heroes. Although there are many things that heroes bring to society three of them are giving hope during difficult times or events, being positive role models, and sacrificing for the sake of others. That is why heroes bring an immeasurable amount of help to society.
One thing that heroes bring to society, is giving hope during difficult times or events. First of all, there are many groups that provide help during natural disasters. For example, Red Cross provides blood from donors to help people who have been injured during serious accidents. The whole goal of Red Cross, and the reason it exists, is to help people who are in

To start, heroes will save others even if it means possibly injuring themselves. For example, everyday thousands for firefighters risk their lives saving others. They know that becoming a firefighter meant facing risks and even death, yet they did it to help others. Secondly, heroes use their own money to support the needs of others. For example, Bill and Melinda Gates created a foundation with their own money which has donated billions of dollars globally to support people and other organizations. Bill and Melinda have pledged to give away the majority of their money and keep doing that out of generosity. Lastly, heroes will sacrifice time and effort in the service of others. For example, anyone who has volunteered at a food donation service like Feed My Starving Children. It takes both time and effort to volunteer at a place like this, which is heroic. In conclusion, sacrifice for the sake of others is another important thing that heroes bring to
Heroes willfully put their own life in the place of someone else’s. In other words, a hero risks their life for another person because they wish to benefit the society they live in. This creates a more superior society for the
A hero is people who buy supplies or other things to help people whom had their property destroyed in a natural disaster. They’re heroes because People who buy supplies for people
First, heroes come in all shapes and sizes and often mean a lot to someone. Heroes are needed because they are always there when needed and you could even say they give everyone
“Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary.”(Gerard Way) When someone is a hero, they do not give up and help others. Heroes do not worry about themselves or satisfying everyone. They focus on doing what is right for others and trying their best in everything that they do. Although being a hero does not always involve having powers or a cape, heroes make difficult sacrifices for others and are normal people whose actions often go unnoticed.
Flames are coming out of every opening in a building and a firefighter runs in to save someone that is inside. A police officer is shot while trying to ensure that no innocent lives are taken of those being held hostage inside a bank. A lifeguard jumps into the deep end of the pool to save a drowning child. Firefighters, police officers, lifeguards or even the next door neighbor could be considered heroes. Why does society have a need for heroes? What traits should heroes have? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a hero in the following ways: a) a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b) an illustrious warrior c) a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities d) one
Most people refer to heroes as the guy that fights crime in the movie, or the prince that saves the life of the princess, but lets get real here, in our life, a hero can be anyone from a paramedic, fire fighter or cancer survivor. It is someone who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. But forget all that, I’m here to tell you that the word hero is ridiculously overused these days.
A hero is powerful, strong, and will have the heart to do what is right. A hero is never selfish and will be generous to others all around them. They will be willing to do the right thing and stand up for what is right even if they are doing it alone. Heroes are almost always remembered for something they did and in some way their name gets remembered and their legacy of a good example. ¨The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example.¨(Benjamin Disraeli).
In America, contrary to popular belief, a hero is not simply someone who wears a cape and saves the town from an evildoer. A hero is a mother, a school bus driver, a mechanical engineer, a farmer. Someone who puts others before themselves, even when no one is watching or praising them. A little kid can be a hero by picking up trash off the ground or sitting with someone at lunch who is sitting alone. It is the little things that a person does that makes them a hero. A mother is a hero by providing for her children. If she did not provide for them then they possibly may not even be alive. A school bus driver is a hero by driving kids to their destination whether if it is school, home, or a school event. The bus driver makes sure they get to their destination saftly and on
According to Alex Lickerman “the willingness to make a personal sacrifice for the benefit of others” (page 1) is what makes a hero. Which means the action itself and not the hero, make him or her heroic. For example “single mothers who deny themselves vacations, clothes and even food to send their children to college” (Lickerman, page 2). These mothers are not flawless or perfect, but are considered heroic. Every mistake a hero makes, are made with the wish to help others. This proves that anyone can be heroes as long as they serve others at a cost to themselves.
Several heroes are very similar; they dedicate their lives to well being of others and possess many excellent traits. To earn the title of a “hero” one needs to be polite, courageous, dedicated and willing. Now these may only be a few of the traits a hero may acquire, but I strongly believe they are the most imperative. A hero is devoted to his or her friends and family and genuinely cares about the prosperity of others without getting any benefit from it. They must be willing to do what is best for the sake of others. Heroes do not have to be fearless, they are human just like the rest of us, but they cannot be
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer”, to me the definition of a hero is not the stereotypical broad-shouldered, invincible type, but the ordinary people that do even the simplest of acts to help someone. Notably, the good-hearted people that help people without expecting any personal profit are the true heroes.
Society always want a role model, somebody to admire and be example, heroes often included in that category, they are the hope for the better future. One of the things hero do is influence the society to be better, to fight for justice, evil vs good. Heroes, necessary in our society because they make everyone think that everything is possible.
A hero must exhibit traits of selflessness. A true hero is always searching for a way to help others. For example, my hero is Mother Teresa. Furthermore, she is a woman that cares for people in a way that some people can’t. Mother Teresa earned the Nobel Peace Prize for working with the poor and providing comfort for the poor, sick, dying, and devoting her life to the poor. She was not worried about what other were doing and did not ask anything for
You will meet many heroes in your lifetime and you probably can't tell by looking at them. A hero is someone who had put themselves in a risky situation with the intent of helping others. Most of the population believes that heroes have to wear a big red cape or fly to be a hero, but those aren't the only heroes out there. Another criteria that people put on heros are that they had to be recognized in text books to be heros. Heroes are everyday people who have sacrificed for others, they are shoved face first into a dangerous scenario and try their hardest to help others, most of these times you only have to be brave for 20 minutes, if they are trying to speak out against the system they don't get silenced by the system.
Heroes have many goals and many challenges, but whether they are successful or not is a whole different story. Always trying their best to achieve their certain goal and risking to help others is what heroes live for. For example, during the attacks of 9/11, boat drivers such as were rescuing people from the island of Manhattan in New York. There were thousands upon thousands of people, but with enough support, the boat drivers were able to rescue everybody. Vincent Ardolino, one of the boat drivers during the 9/11 boatlift, said in the documentary “Boatlift” that he tells his children to “never go through life saying you should have. If you want to do something, do it.” This mindset is what all heroes should adopt for the future. These people may not have the most difficult job in the world, but they carry out small challenges with a lot of passion. Likewise, were the heroes during Hurricane Harvey and Irma, two very devastating Hurricanes that have costed the USA many lives. Many people from outside of the area have done countless things to help like rescue people with their boats, donate money, and help rebuild. Many of these heroes have risked their lives and struggled on for the greater good.
