America’s gift to my generation is not just a physical gift, but a mental gift. The physical gift is the safer place to live and grow. This mental gift that America gave to my generation is a deep feeling that you can go around and be who you are, dress in what you want, say what you want, and basically do what you want without being restricted to doing one thing each and every day. America’s gift to my generation is the ability to grow, learn, and live life the way you want to without a limit. If you look at America compared to other countries it’s like a whole family, and America is the one that all the other siblings go to for help or a safe place. Ronald Regan once said,” We are forever indebted to those who have given their lives that we might be free.” We celebrate Veteran’s Day to celebrate those who made the biggest sacrifice for our freedom, America’s Gift, but freedom is not the only thing. America’s greatest Gifts to me are my freedom in general, freedom of Religion, and high advances in technology.

Here in America, we are free to pursue our own happiness. We also have one of the strongest and largest economies in world history. We have liberty or freedom unheard of in the world. We have a justice system that works proficiently, though not flawless, and we even have a justice system that is very high ranking. We also the benefaction of education, most of it at public charge. Americans also have the right to aspire to any dream we may have. One of the most important gifts to our generation is the chance to provide to this society and make it more suitable for yourself, your family, and your fellow citizens. I believe that America’s gift to my generation is freedom, technology, useful objects and utensils. I think that my generation has taken a lot for granted, we have many rights and have many things people didn’t have before but were made for future generations such as mine.

America has brought this new generation many new opportunities such as , technology, freedom, and rights. Americas technology now is way more complex than it was 30 years ago. Now in this day of age, we have smartphones, televisions, computers, digital clocks and watches, and so much more. Freedom is also very different than it was back in the 1900´s. People now of any color, race, religion, and gender all have rights, as if back then not everybody has the privileges that they do now.

America, it mostly is an amazing continent, or so they for the most part thought. We really take it for granted, not taking care of it, so America, it specifically is an amazing continent in a kind of big way. America however, doesn’t care because it definitely is not a living creature, which mostly is quite significant. America has offered us many things to be proud of. But often times, we fail, and only look at the simplest things. We think of our freedoms; speech, religion, press. But while those are our valuable gifts, we forget to look inside of those gifts, to find something more meaningful. This essay is about my generation’s gift, but also everybody else’s gift, unique in it’s own time. It is believable, that over the past 241 years, that the greatest gift, that shows up stronger in every generation, is the spirit of us, a spirit ‘We the people’. The past generations of America have passed down so many amazing gifts that we take for granted such as freedom of speech, endless opportunities, and diversity. These remarkable individuals have modeled a strong work ethic that challenges Americans to ultimately succeed in life. Harriet Tubman helped lead slaves through an underground passage that she created; it got named the Underground Railroad. Once the slaves got through the passage, they earned the freedom to live their lives however they wanted to. There is many gifts America has given to my generation, so much that I will not be able to list them all here. All of the amazing gifts America has given to my generation was earned. I believe that we take some of them for granted, we sometimes do not understand all the great and wonderful things America has given to this generation. So, I will be listing some of the most important gifts that has earned and then given to my generation.

Have you ever thought about what America has done for your generation, and what that represents? I have, and America has given my generation freedom. Recently I have asked myself these two questions, “Are we actually free? Are we actually allowed to make our own decisions?” I have thought about it and we are free, we are allowed to make our own decisions, and we have equal rights. “How do I know this?”, you ask. I know this because if it wasn’t true then our nationwide motto wouldn’t be, “America, land of the free, home of brave”.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela. Without education, there is simply no telling of what this world would be like. There wouldn’t be doctors, lawyers, businesses etc. Life and everything around us would be fatuous. Schools and education give us a plan in life and help guide us. Throughout the years education has changed tremendously. It had its improvements throughout the decades, and it also has had its falters as well. Education in America is an issue in this country and it definitely needs to be tweaked and improved. Education is what makes us people who we are and what we will be. Nelson Mandela had it right, there is no weapon more powerful than education.
