The principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights relates to the Saint Leo Universities core value of community in a lot of different ways. Part of Saint Leo’ mission statement is to create a student-centered environment in which love of learning is of prime importance. Members of the community are expected to examine and express their own values, listen respectfully to and respond to the opinions of others, serve the community in which they live, welcome others into their lives, and care for all of God's creations. To me this means how we view our experiences, our achievements, and having balanced perspective. The Declaration of Human Rights Article 29 says “ that everyone must respect the rights of others, the community and public property and number 16 states that everyone has the right to marry and have a family” which is a part of having a balanced perspective. Responsible Stewardship is to foster a spirit of service to employ our resources to university and community development. We must be resourceful. To me this means that God's servants are to be wise stewards and managers over the resources He provides. Article 25 says that a person has the right to an adequate standard of living and medical help if they are ill. There are resources that are available to take care of you when it’s needed and no one has the right to deny you care. Integrity the commitment of Saint Leo University to excellence demands that its members live its mission and deliver on its promise. The faculty, staff, and students pledge to be honest, just, and consistent in word and deed. To me this mean honesty, fairness, ethics, and moral character. Most importantly is Integrity and article 19 states that everyone has the right to say what they think and to give and receive information. Number 21 says that everyone has the right to
