Batman is aided by several of his compatriots, like Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman. The supporting character's inclusion is handled well, and a nice bonus is that they are briefly playable. I highly enjoyed the dual-team take-downs which are appropriately intense. However, I wish the supporting characters would affect the main story in a more significant way, and sadly, many of them are relegated to side-quest appearances. The on-foot locomotion is stellar, and you navigate Gotham effortlessly and swiftly. The simple mechanic of firing the Batclaw at a ledge and propelling yourself into the air is surprisingly enjoyable, and you cover great distances without touching the ground. Navigation towards your location is represented by a glowing
Frank Miller’s Batman in The Dark Knight Returns presents the struggles of living a double life in both mental and physical states. Bruce Wayne, an elderly recluse, appears to have retired as Batman at the beginning of the novel. Most evenings, he stayed in the comfort of his home drinking large portions of alcohol while watching television as the world wrecked into chaos. That's until an elemental power within him haunts the Batcave while sleepwalking. That is when his rebirth as Batman begins.
“Somewhere, a Long, Happy Life Probably Awaits You” (Jill Sexsmith) and “Batman and Robin Have an Altercation” (Stephen King) both share a common trait between each of the two stories that revolve around a mentally ill family member. The two stories each follow in accordance with Tzvetan Todorov’s Theory of Narrative. They each begin with an equilibrium and after a disruption, they fall into an offset of the balance of the story. The characters then recognize the problem and take action to restore the initial balance that had previously existed. In “Somewhere,”, theory of narrative is portrayed through a man and his mentally ill wife. The author uses two stories, one about the man’s wife and another about the tree on their front lawn that coincide to develop a path that follows the Todorov’s theory. Batman follows the story of a man and his father who has Alzheimer’s disease. This short story follows a day with the man’s father to convey Todorov’s theory.
Batman is a depiction of hope. Batman was the answer to a lot of people’s problems in a place where nobody felt safe like they should in their home. He was like the rain after a long, dry spell for
Batman is the Hero, Joker is the Trickster, Robin is the Ally, Alfred is the Mentor, and the police, or law, is the Guardian. Starting with Batman, Batman is the Hero because of the role he plays to protect Gotham city, although he is not seen that way more often than not. The Joker is the Trickster and not the Shadow, not only for the fact that Batman has a lot of enemies but because of the way the Joker provides laughs and trickery into the storyline. Robin was the easiest one, as he is universally known as the sidekick, as the Ally, since he embarks alongside Batman on his
The air smelled sharply of chemicals, and smoke. You can hear sirens from the GCPD cars. The sound blaring from being so close to them was reading to the point when I heard my being called I missed it.
In choosing to persecute Batman the idea is reinforced that Batman isn’t a Hero people to turn to for hope. Bruce won’t get any praise for his actions, but his unselfish acts
He is fearless in protecting his home, Gaetland, as well as the people of Danes and King Hrothgar. He easily gains the people’s trust and proves that he is reliable. Like Beowulf, Batman is also a loyal
In the heartbeat moving trauma of Christopher Nolan, "The Dark Knight" The curious figure of Batman is depicted as the symbol of vigilantism and justice in crime laden Gotham City. Within the darkness of this dual life, there is where the character of billionaire Bruce Wayne reflects upon the events of his past while at the same time delving deep inwards to plumb the depths of his own psyche in a search for the inner workings of the mind. On the other hand, he is enthralled in a blurred world of morality, where he incessantly questions his actions and the cost of justice. Doing so, the Joker, an incarnation of chaos and the most dangerous threat to Gotham's stability, appears to stand in Batman's way in shape of a chaotic persona and his own
Knowledge is a powerful tool. This seems to be a basic quality, many do not have this. In Animal Farm a selected few, being the pigs, who have a vast amount of knowledge and use that to their benefit. Instead of using this quality for the greater good of the farm, the pigs use it as a way to manipulate the other animals for their own personal gain. Through the uneven distribution of labor, the alteration of the seven commandments, and the persuasion of Snowballs mischief, the pigs show that abuse of knowledge leads to the manipulation of the uneducated.
Throughout the movie, Bruce Wayne continues to distance himself from society as Batman. While attending the hotel party Rachel confronts Bruce about doing more for the city. He tells her he is now a better person but doesn’t allow her to know he is Batman. Even the closest to him he chooses not to let know what he is doing for the city. Next when in the warehouse with Jim Gordon they team up together to stop Gotham from being cut off completely.
Bruce Wayne the protagonist, along with district attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant Jim Gordon are fighting a sadistic villein, the joker. Throughout the movie the joker tests their boundaries and force them to make extremely difficult and ethical decisions. The movie begins with Batman’s realization that he can no longer put him
Batman's a whole other story. The filmmakers have worked out the mask problems from the previous film; Bale fills the suit with grace and danger. His voice is disguised as well - it's now a bass-heavy synthesized whisper. The character seems more than ever an extension of his high-tech toys (like the neat-o Bat-scooter that pops out of the Batmobile at one point, ecstatically rearing up like the Lone Ranger's Silver). He represents a citizen's darkest urges, though, and it eats at him. He's Dirty Harry crossed with Hamlet.
Batman the crime fighting, cape wearing, detective we all know and love, but does his Bruce Wayne personality insult his fans without realizing it? A superhero would do anything to save or protect the people that they care about, even if it meant being rude and arrogant. So anything that’s really offensive he’s only doing it to protect Alfred, his friends, and his fans.
Miller’s play, The Death of a Salesman (1949) was about a family, and their struggles for the American dream. The family composition was not unlike that of an average family, a mom, a dad, and two children. Mom, Linda, tended to the house, oversaw the finances, as well as the lives of the remaining family members. Dad, Willy, supported the family as an on-the-road salesman. At first, Willy’s outbursts were confusing, but as I read the outbursts began to unfold the meanings buried in the storyline. Miller’s play conveyed many messages, the most important being the importance of hope. A soul without hope ceases to adapt, ceases to grow, and ceases to live.
Batman is one of the many fictional superheroes which appears in the “American comic books” that is published by the DC comics. The character is a secret identity for Bruce Wayne, the only heir to Wayne Enterprises. Bruce Wayne swore an oath of vengeance when he witnessed the death of his parents;Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne (Diamond, 2015). Bat man combats criminals in Gotham: a fictional city, with assistance from various characters, for example, his butler Alfred and Gordon; Gotham city police commissioner. Unlike many of the superheroes characters, Batman possesses no powers .Bruce Wayne trained himself intellectually and physically .it is from dedication to training he possessed the useful traits of physical prowess, martial arts skills, detective skills and indomitable will to fight for justice. Though his motive is to combat crime and protect people of Gotham city from criminals, the justice system in most of the times views Batman as a villain and vigilante. He can inflict fear to Gotham city criminals thereby bringing calmness to the city. I identify myself with the Batman character through his selfless will for justice, his strong determination to do good
