At first there was nothing. Only the will of the universe, some would name Fate. It was Fate that brought one of the first Gods into existence, Earth. When Earth was made he looked around and decided that nothing was too empty and created one planet. A planet so big that it filled the nothing with ease. After Earth came water. Water looked upon the planet Earth created and decided it needed something more. Thus, he covered the planet completely in water. Earth, seeing this, was enraged his creation was completely covered and went to speak with Water and together they came to an accord. Earth would raise the the planets surface in places until there was an equal ratio of land and sea. Fire was next to appear, but there was something fundamentally different in Fire that seperates her from Earth and Water. It is that Fire is …show more content…
The four Originals using the great power they wield joined together and created a new realm that resembled this one and could not exist without it. They pulled all of their creations into this realm. This would come to be known as the Elemental realm. Nature and Life did not have the power to create a new realm as the originals did. So they approached Death and asked him if he would stop the slaughter as they could not bear to see their creations destroyed. Death looked upon them and explained if he were to stop then the planet would become overpopulated again after a time. Nature and Life understood his reasoning and together they all devised a way to allow all of them to be happy. The reincarnation cycle. They would allow Death to reap life after a certain time has passed. Each race was given a general time limit on how long they could live. Unless they gain more power. It was decided that gaining power will increase lifespan. Those who died would be put into the reincarnation cycle only to be reborn again once a certain period of time has passed depending on the merits of that
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. The Earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep”. There are many stories that talk about how the Earth are created and they all vary depending on the beliefs of the writers. In these stories there are many similarities but there are also a few differences. A good example of these similarities can be found in a few creation stories such as Genesis, Creation by the Hopi, and The World on the Turtle’s Back by the Iroquois. In these three stories there are differences and similarities found when looking at how the Earth was created, where all the evil and good came about from, and how all of the animals got their names.
How was the world created? There are a bunch of ways different beliefs on how the world was created and it mainly has to do with religion and the way people believe in something. The story “The World on Turtles Back” shows how the Iroquois believe the world was created. The story of Genesis is creation story on how the Christians believe the world was formed. “The World on the Turtles Back” and Genesis are two stories that can be so different
He then made dry land to contrast with the waters and it was called Earth. He called the waters seas. Then he created vegetation. This marked the 3rd day.
THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THEN THERE WAS LIGHT AS IN GENESIS, CHAPTER ONE, STATED. THE LIGHT GOD CALLED DAY THE DARK HE CALLED NIGHT CREATED A HUMAN BEING THERE IN BEGAN MAN’S
The Enuma Elish explains this creation by using numerous gods to create earth, for example: Apsu and Tiamat are the water that helps flood the landmass that is later created into earth. Lahmu and Lahumu are the silt that later is turned into the actual earth and dirt that individuals walk on. So the story uses the forces of nature and considers them as gods whereas many people just see rivers and ocean as just water and nothing else.
Plato says “Sleep comes after being awake and being awake comes after sleep. Likewise just as death comes from life so must death return to life again.”(Tolstoy) Plato is explaining that life is like a rotating wheel with only two parts. You will live and then you will die but then there has to be something after that which is life again and the circle restarts, and this process never stops. Plato says “They have stayed for certain appointed periods, some longer, some shorter, they are sent forth again into the generation of living things.” “The inhabitants of the upper realms live there longer than those of the lower realms and without the pains, but they are only more like the Immortals, not actually immortal themselves. When they have to fall down, they are forced to fall back again and are assigned to an appropriate status, depending on their nature and according to their deeds” (hellenismo). It may take years for a person to be reincarnated. And who or what you are reincarnated into depends on the nature of the spirit and what you need to do in your next life. Plato says it’s not by chance you get a certain body or born into a certain family it’s for a reason... “ Famous philosophers socrates and pythagoras also believe what plato believed. They believe reincarnation is real. In Hinduism, it is believed that an enduring soul survives after death, spends a variable amount of time in another realm, and then becomes associated with a new body.”. “Hinduism includes the concept of karma, the idea that the conditions into which one is born are determined by one's conduct in various previous lives”. Buddhists believe also that once some has dies they reincarnate but they believe that who you reincarnate to is based on your karma except for the Dalai Lama. They believe that the Dalai Lama doesn’t get karma because of their “devotion to complete compassion for all sentient beings”
The Cosmos was crafted from four elements. The four elements are earth, air, water, and fire. The universe needed fire, so it could be visible. The universe needed earth, so it could be tangible. Since these two elements reside in two different extremes, the demiurge had to create a balance in order to bond the earth and fire. Thus, water and air were created to be in between the earth and fire. The addition of the air and water would also create a mathematical completeness in the universe.
1. According to Hesiod, in the beginning there were four primordial beings. Chaos was the first entity to exist, then came Earth (Gaea), Tartarus and Eros . Chaos produced two offspring, Erebus and Night who made love and bore Aether and Day . Earth then gave birth to her son Heaven who would later become her partner. Gaea then through parthenogenesis bore the Mountains and the Sea. Gaea then along with Heaven created the Oceans, Cyclopes and the deities known as the Titans . Heaven fearing for himself after hearing of a prophecy in which his own son would usurp his position among the Gods kept his offspring trapped in the womb of Gaea . This act made Gaea extremely angry and so in order to free her children she crafted a silver sickle, which
Before the creation of this world, there were various other attempts of creating a perfect world that would support life, humans and all the natural resources for survival. The Aztecs created a story where they described five different attempts of creating the perfect world and who were the ones involved in the creation. There were five different gods who sacrificed their lives in each and every attempt of creating a world. The Aztecs referred to the legend as an “actually a story of birth, death, and rebirth” (Aztec-History). The first four worlds were first created or in other words born, and then when they weren’t stable enough to hold life they were destroyed, by either the gods or natural resources.
All four gods then shook hands and a small round, brown seed appeared. Each god proceeded to kick the seed, causing it to become the earth. Together they created the seas, plaint life, and animals. This creation myth is straightforward due to the fact that the group was too involved with concerns of survival to spend time debating religious issues. " Therefore, the Apache were encouraged to establish their own relationship with the supernatural forces that surrounded them" (Ruvolo).
In the beginning of the story in the creation of genesis god created the the heavens and the earth. In Greek earth was created to furnish Gaia with life. In the Genesis story the god created the heavens and the earth as an expression of his glory. In the Greek Story NYX’s golden egg created earth. In the genesis creation story god created earth.
Then God made the land and water. He named the land “earth” and the water was called “sea”. Plants and animals were put on the land and fish and the other water creatures were in the sea. There were birds that flew above land. God told the all the animals, the fish, and the birds to be fruitful and multiply.
Bullying happens everywhere, whether it is at work, school, or home, This is Where It Ends, evidence in the schools, and adult psychiatric health problems later on in life, are some supporting evidence to show that this is an ongoing problem. According to stopbullying.gov bullying is described as “An Imbalance of Power: Kids who bully use their power—such as physical strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity—to control or harm others. Power imbalances can change over time and in different situations, even if they involve the same people.” Bullying helps someone have dominance over another, it can boost their confidence, and self-esteem. Although bullying has been around for as long as anyone can remember, it is just recently in the 2000s that is has received serious attention and research (Hymel). There have been many recent events that have focused on this subject.
When the trees and plants that covered the earth at he time began to die, they fell into the seas and descended to the ocean floors. On the ocean floors, fish and
The pre-Socratics are referred to as the natural philosophers. They tried to explain everything tin the world by some natural phenomena. They were concerned about two main problems. These included cosmology, or the physical nature of the universe and a second principle cosmogony or the nature of change and the creation of the universe and what will become off all things. Empedocles was a Greek pre-Socratics as a Greek pre-Socratic philosopher from a Greek city in Sicily who wanted to figure out the answers to these two problems. According to him, the world is made of four main elements, including: earth, air, fire and water, these four elements is able to create all things by being “mixed in different combinations and proportions”. In an attempt to explain cosmogony or the nature of change he change of things in the universe, he explains that each of the elements “retains its own characteristics in the mixture and each is eternal and unchanging”. Empedocles also proposed a world where the two cosmic forces of love and strife are present. These two forces work upon the four elements in both “creative and destructive ways”. Love is a force of “attraction and combination” and Strife is a force of “repulsion and separation”. Many things were unclear about these forces however, what was true was that the two forces were engaged in an everlasting “battle for control of the cosmos and that they each prevail in turn in an endless cycle”. In an attempt to explain this cycle of
