Roughly two years ago on a cool fall night in October I was playing junior varsity football at Cushman field against the roughriders. This was the first year I ever played football and had already become a starter. I was the last line of defense on kickoff and ended up colliding with the opponent who had received the kick. After the contact, he was out of bounds and I was laying on the sideline in pain unable to get up. I ended up tearing my Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and my lateral meniscus in my right knee and knew after surgery I would need help doing everything because of my inability to walk.
All of the videos showed the importance of concussion identification, management, and prevention when it comes to all athletes. In the video Life Changed by Football, Zach Lystedt was just your typical high school athlete. His story focused on the idea that one day you could be perfect and the next day it could be changed. This all started when Zach’s head snapped back during football and he sustained a concussion. One of the most important things that happened, that shouldn’t have, is that Zach returned to play. Coaches and athletic trainers didn’t properly assess his injury, sending Zach back out to play. Zach’s brain was still recovering from his concussion and returning to play caused even more damage. As a result, Zach was unable to move
Proper traing and proper equipment is very important in football and this report will be on the history of football and equpment you should wear.Football is a very physical sport, and it’s difficult to imagine this game being played with no equipment. Even while wearing equipment, playing this game has resulted in many injuries. But over the years the game of football has become more safe. grader when football caught my interest, football was always a huge part of my family. Football impacted both my Mom and Dad’s side of the family, everyone was connected to football, whether they played the sport, cheered , or was their soon to be husband’s biggest fan. I come from a small city in the Rio Grande Valley. My city isn’t the largest there is but, this city made me the person I am today and I’ve made so many memories here so this city means the world to me. Growing up here, sports was a major part of my life. A majority of kids always slept in most weekends, but I always had practice or games on Saturdays. Sundays I was up early to attend church with my family.
Since 5th grade I have played for the local travel soccer team. I have always been on the lowest team from the beginning and when I was younger I was fine with it because at least I was playing the sport that I love. As I got older it became more competitive and I was tired of being on the lowest team. I told my coaches I was interested in moving up and asked them what I could do to get there. They told me what I needed to do to improve and I practiced almost every day after school. I tried out freshman and sophomore year to make the highest team and both times I failed. I did everything they told me to but it still wasn't good enough. For a short time I thought about giving up but then I realized that I have worked too hard and too long to
What does football mean to you? To many, it means teamwork, competition, strategy, and tensions. Football has been around for many years, but recently, many are becoming aware and concerned about the deadly and life threatening dangers football harbors. There is also controversy in terms of age, and whether or not young children should be exposed to the brutality of the sport, given the high impact injuries. The important characteristics football instructs are tremendously important and valuable, although, considering the harmful and detrimental factors, children should not be exposed and victimized as a result of playing football.
A place where I feel perfectly content is on the football field. This is the place for me because when I am here it is just me and 10 of my "teammates" working together to achieve a common goal, to win. Being under the lights on Friday night with a whole town watching you is just an unearthly feeling. When I step onto the field it's more than just a game or a hobby it's a place to channel everything from that day, week, or even month to just come out not as a raw emotion but as aggression. I don't hear the crowd's roars or the referee's whistle, but just the sound of the quarterback as he says the cadence and the sounds of pads clashing together. The moment that the ball moves from the line is an opportunity to get further down the field to the end zone, closer to the goal of winning and taking the pride of being the better team, more prepared, and more aggressive on the field, and even being more disciplined off the field.
As I throw my old worn out football that my mom gave me when I was little against the sad grey color that was my wall I wonder what it would be like to feel the pressure of the game clock ticking and the offense driving. What it would feel like to be in a locker room getting a pep talk with the coach before a game. What it would be like to have all the pressure on you to execute the play. I wonder what it would be like to play football.
Throughout my life, I have been shaped almost entirely by my experiences in academics, athletics, and social involvement in my community. . These experiences, both positive and negative, have one thing in common; I have learned from each and every one of them. . The negative experiences have helped me to better myself as a student, athlete, and citizen. The positive experiences have motivated me and pushed me to keep striving for further success.
This poem is what I think one of the best poems I have ever hear and
This poem is pure reality it shows the truth in how life goes, and it give us a clear picture on how it does not come easy. There isn't a fantasy aspect on this because of how it shows that we grow old and die we don't live forever and always have a perfect life.
Over the years of my life I have matured greatly, I have matured in many different ways. Unlike my little brother who has a lot of maturing to go, in my thirteen years I have outgrown many activities that used to be funny. I have mature mentally while deer hunting and in my school work. I have also matured morally in the sports that I play.
My parents raised me telling me,” The world doesn’t owe you anything.” That to be successful you have to work hard. As soon as I started playing football, I found out that was no lie.You have to work hard to succeed, you always have to put in the work to win or lose. This great advice showed me that not all things are challenging, but most things are; sports helped me with this. They taught me to be on time and ready to go, and that no matter the outcome your family will always be there for you.
The Fall of 2012 was absolutely perfect. My older brother made the football team at Coastal Carolina University as a walk on. It was such a fun experience for my family and me to go watch all of his games. However, that did not last as long as we expected due to a major injury he sustained. Sometime after the injury occurred, we got a call that changed our lives forever. My brother had been arrested and was in jail. The fun did not last long and he was not the only one who was tremendously affected.
For as long as I can remember football has been a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. When I was first born my grandfather said that I was solid and built to play football. I used to throw the football with my mother when I was a toddler and she always told me that when I tried to tackle her I hit really hard. My first organized football experience was when I was five. I had just moved to Manassas, VA from Washington, D.C. in 1994. It was around fall and that was right at the beginning of football season in the area. I remember telling my mother that I wanted to play, so she looked for a local organization for children. She came across the Greater Manassas Football League (GMFL) and that is where I began to play the game I
