How does Geothermal energy works? Geothermal energy works by the heat from the earth fossil in the Earth’s crust. This heat from the earth generates the electricity or heats homes from underground. Power plants are apart of geothermal as well. There are three types of power plants. The three types of power plant dry steam, binary ,and flash. These power plants are helping us produce more electricity but in a renewable way.

It is a renewable energy after the heat is done it will deposit back to the ground. It is good that the energy is renewable because it will last for years. Another advantage is that the geothermal energy will not cause harm to the environment because this energy is non-polluting. Geothermal is also resourceful in your homes as well,if you needed any heating or cooling somewhere in your house. Lastly, geothermal will provide more jobs for people over in 20 countries so this will help improve the economy.

Geothermal energy has disadvantages too. The water usage, high construction costs, and etc are things that geothermal energy effects. It can be very dangerous and hard to drill into hard heated rock. Sulfur dioxide, and silica emissions are harmful too and could possibly kill somebody. Geothermal sites and locations contain harmful gases that are poisonous, and they can escape from deep inside the earth.
