Macbeth was aware of his wrong decisions and was willing to suffer the consequences. He created his own torment which lead to guilt and misery. We cannot assume that Macbeth was a helpless character influenced by his surroundings and had decisions made for him. Despite this influence, Macbeth knew the cost of his actions. His attitude changes through the power of fear, because he relied on the evil entities and behaved according to their prophecies. Macbeth's thoughts of regicide to gain power and how his attitude changed is evident in William Shakespeare's play.
