How Does Shakespeare Present Hamlet's State Of Mind

In Act III scene IV of Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Hamlet finally confronts his mom for marrying Claudius. He finally lets his true feelings out and in this passage we can see Hamlet’s true state of mind. Shakespeare wrote this scene with the purpose of showing his audience the vexation that he has because of Gertrude marrying and sleeping with Claudius. Hamlet uses infuriated language, religious affiliations, and crude comparisons to try to make his mother feel guilt, regret, disappointment and pain for betraying King Hamlet by wedding the new king.

Hamlet’s use of violent and insulting language can be found almost anywhere in this passage. His rudeness is overemphasized, and the reason Shakespeare conveyed Hamlet this way is to show us
