Throughout the book Shasta, who was raised by Arsheesh the fishermen, was loyalty to his trustworthy friends because they were on the same adventure. This is the book of The Horse and His Boy. Which diligently written by C.S Lewis. Lewis was born on November 29, 1898 and died 22 November 1962 which was 64 years later. The Horse and His Boy was written in 1950 and published with the help of Geoffrey Bles. This is an exciting adventure of loyalty and friendship throughout Narnia.
Shasta expressed loyalty throughout The Horse and His Boy, which was his strongest trait. An example of his faithfulness when He didn’t announce that Bree was a talking horse. He secretly fled quietly with Bree to the north, which was what he longed to do. Shasta was always determined and showed it when he started this adventure. He was loyal, and because of that Bree trusted him. Bree announced to Aravis who was a Tarkeena “I'll vouch for the boy, Tarkheena; He's been true to me and a good friend. And he’s certainly either a Narnian or Archenlander.” (Chapter >2< Page 31) Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” Shasta had been loyal throughout his journey which changed

Aslan was the two lions chasing Shasta and Bree, and he was the cat at the tomb protecting Shasta. He disappeared when he told Shasta’s story. God could make certain things happen, such as he could save you from a lion. God can quickly control anything he would like. Isaiah 40:26 states “Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all of these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.” “God want his disciples to rise to heaven. Aslan like God, wants his people to rise to greatness. This is the book when Aslan symbolize as
This truth is displayed in C. S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, in which case the character Aslan is not even human. In the story, Aslan is an anthropomorphic, male lion that shares many similarities with the biblical description of Jesus Christ. While Aslan is literally a lion, Jesus is described symbolically as a lion (New King James Version, Rev 5:5). While Aslan is not crucified, he sacrifices his life for his people, and is murdered on a stone table (Lewis 155). Also similarly, Aslan undergoes a resurrection from death and reappears as a stronger and larger version of himself (Lewis
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a fiction in which one of the main characters, the sturdy lion Aslan, has the most power and authority. There are tons of images of Aslan from the book and the movie that relate to Jesus in Bible. The most outstanding images are the death of Aslan on top of the stone table which represents the crucifixion of Jesus, Aslan’s rebirth which is similar to the Resurrection of Jesus, and Aslan’s offering the stone statues life just as the figure of God made everything. Shortly, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe includes a number of biblical images that are the details from the Bible which were reflected by the book and the movie.
Loyalty appears many times throughout the course of The Odyssey. Circe let Odysseus and his crew stay with her for an entire year. She gave Odysseus advice about how to get to the underworld to meet the blind prophet Tiresias, along with advice on defeating the beasts Scylla and the sirens. Circe was crucial for Odysseus's survival. His crew might have lasted too if only they listened to her as well. Circe also leads Odysseus to become more humble in the end because, in a way, she makes it so he can't make all of the rules and plans anymore, but just tells his men what she says is the right thing to
I’m writing to Lisa Darger, Coordinator of Sustainability from the office of Sustainability. A coordinator is who organize events, activities and arrange people in order to make sure they work together effectively. Since Darger is Coordinator, she can make all the changes and add new facilities to the recycling and littering activities. I’m wanting to discuss her about providing more trashcans here and there and also proving more recycling activities on campus. I think she will be interested in my letter because it is responsibility if there is issues about litter or recycling is occurred, and I’m sure she will be happy to help me about my issues about littering on campus.
Next, C.S. Lewis is an exceptional British author. He was born in 1898 and died in 1963. He has wrote many books throughout his career. His most famous work is the series The Chronicles of Narnia. He is also known for his science fiction novels, such as Out of the Silent Planet. C.S.
C.S. Lewis wrote The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe because he wanted to write a children’s book “as a gift for his godchild” (Palmer). It began for him with a series of pictures that came into his mind. “Lewis stated, ‘Everything began with images; a faun carrying an umbrella, a queen on a sledge, a magnificent lion” (Kennedy). A fairy tale was forming in his mind and “‘At first there wasn't anything Christian about them; that element pushed itself in of its own accord’” (Kennedy), As the story progresses and Lewis’s characters and storyline begin to develop a seemingly clear relationship formed between The Bible and this novel. “Given Lewis’s strong Christian faith, that is not surprising. In fact, once the story was established, Lewis said he ‘...saw how stories of this kind could steal past a certain inhibition which had paralysed much of my own religion in childhood’” (Kennedy.) Even though C.S. Lewis started off writing a children's novel, many people perceive it to be a novel written in parallel to the Bible. Lewis has used Biblical references and a classic storyline to prove that good will alway triumph over evil. Aslan is labeled as a divine figure in the novel; he is also known as the son of the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea. Aslan’s death and resurrection is like that of Christ. The four children are all considered important to in the world of Narnia, but in the real world they are
Aslan had also chosen specific animals to have the power of speech. Those who had this free will to speak had been given the land that was created to populate. This is closely related to the creation of man and woman and the freedom of speech for humanity. As long as they did not go back to their “old ways” as dumb animals, the speaking animals were given authority by Aslan to govern the animals who could not talk. Lewis gives us a hint that humans are dumb in nature, and that we would be nothing without God, for He is the only one who can raise us up from the lowly beginning from whence we had come from. Here is a quote from the book showing the authority of Aslan, just as God has authority over us as His creation.
After reading this chapter I came to the conclusion that Aslan is “Jesus”. He took his life just as Jesus did for the people. He cares more about the people them himself just like Jesus. After Aslan died he came back alive just as Jesus did. This story was more than just a regular story, it was telling the story of god in a different form.
The Odyssey, translated by Robert Fitzgerald, manifests a quality that has been underestimated for many years, from ancient times to modern day. This quality is the power of a woman. Penelope, the wife of the main character in The Odyssey, Odysseus, shows great amplitudes of power throughout the first few chapters of the book. Being separated from her husband immediately after having their child, she is forced to make an instantaneous adaptation to her new life. With many struggles beforehand, she seems to cope very well.
The main points in the article “Their Best Way to Show Loyalty” published on March 6, 1942 is to remove all Japanese people out of military zones until the war is over, give Japanese as much time as they can to find a place to go, and to make it as easy as possible for them to go and stay until the war is over. The government believed the best thing for these people was to have them leave. Japanese people were in danger living where they were, and if they would have stayed there would have been real danger arising. Any kind of sabotage would have caused a race riot and that’s something the government didn’t want. This article was trying to accomplish or show why Japanese had to flee and move away from their natural homes. Also to show the beginning of internment, which began by some people being placed in a
Since the four children can be seen as symbolisms of human beings, their relationship with Aslan shows a lot about the grace, mercy and overall character of God. One of the main examples where this is seen is the grace that Aslan showed to Edmund who was a traitor. Despite Edmunds’ choice to prioritize Turkish delight over his family and his right as one of the king of Narnia, Aslan still accepted Edmund into his army and not only that Edmund still inherited the kingdom of Narnia not by his own works but by Aslan’s
is he? I believe Aslan represents God, because they share some similarities, but they do have
The theme of loyalty repeats many times throughout the Odyssey. But no other character shows the same great deal of loyalty as the wife of Odysseus, Penelope. Penelope demonstrates her loyalty to her husband by remaining faithful to him in 30 years of his absence. Even as suitors court her in marriage. Penelope would not choose to marry a suitor until she was certain Odysseus had died.
C.S Lewis is a very popular author who has written the Narnia books and also many other. These books are loved by many and also very much appreciated by others. He is able to suck a reader into the book they pick up and leave them wanting more. The settings, the dialogue, and the characters in the novel are very well developed. He has written many books, and does this in every book of his. The Narnia books are very fun to read and will leave the reader amazed. The characters portrayed in the novel are given very life like personalities when spoken about. He will explain everything on the character up to the last scratch on them.
Mr. and Mrs. Beaver are symbolic of guardian angels since they are forever trying to help the Pevensies by guiding them to safety and leading them through the snow. Some critics also argue that the Beavers are a representation of Moses. The fox represents people who do not seem to be religious but when tested are proved to be very pious and like the fox, willing to give up their lives for the sake of their beliefs. Aslan is symbolic to Jesus, God, and the goodness of the world. C. S. Lewis seems to have taken the form or Aslan as a lion for the Bible as well. “See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed” (Revelations 5:5). Lewis tells the story of the Paschal Mystery through Aslan.
