Drugs are not good for health as they have many side effects and damage our brain, heart and other important organs. Drug is a depressant that slows down the functions of the central nervous system and makes us less aware of the events around us. It exaggerates communication, and destroys our physical and emotional pains. Drug use is illegal and is rarely prescribed by doctors. Some of the illegal drugs are marijuana, nicotine, cocaine, and heroin. Drugs are consumed in different ways, by inhaling, taking by mouth, injecting, applying on skin, and smoking. In countries that take drug abuse more seriously, death can be a result. Some controlled drugs are allowed if you have permission from a doctor. This is called a prescription. The most common used –and abused- drug in the United States is alcohol. Many people don’t consider alcohol to be a drug, but it has the same if not worse effects on people than some illegal drugs. When taking drugs, there have been many deaths linked to the combination of alcohol and other illegal drugs. When combined, the effects of certain drugs with alcohol create effects that cannot be handled by the body, which causes the body to shut down. Mixing alcohol with any drug is extremely dangerous as well as potentially fatal. Alcohol has a greater impact on teens than it does on adults. The reason for this comes from the fact that their bodies are still growing. This goes the same for all drugs. While in an alcoholic stupor, you are at a higher risk of unknowingly mixing drugs with the already consumed alcohol. Usually, the drugs with more harsh or harmful side effects are the ones which need a prescription. This is because if they are not used under the supervision and direction of a doctor they can be highly addictive. If they were over the counter drugs, anyone could easily gain access to them.
