How Exercising Reduces Health Risks Exercise can benefit the human body in many ways. Exercising promotes blood flow and strengthens your heart and arteries. There have been many studies over the years to find the best ways to positively benefit your health, and exercise is one of the top ways reduce the chance of many health problems. The recommended amount of physical activity, or exercise, is around one hundred and fifty minutes a week, or twenty-two minutes a day (Mercola, 2015). Exercise can lower your chances of having cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and many others health problems. Health problems such as cancer or a heart attack are more severe than arthritis in many cases, but just twenty-two minutes of exercise daily could reduce your chances of both. Exercise could be considered the best vaccine for chronic diseases.

Cancer is a very serious health problem that affects a very large amount of people. According to the American Cancer Society by January 1, 2014 14.5 million people has had cancer in the United States alone (American Cancer Society, 2014). Cancer is caused from a gene mutation. Colon cancer was the leading cancer in men at 2.9 million cases and breast cancer led for woman at 3.1 million cases (American Cancer Society, 2014).
