Globalization gets people all over the world all sorts of materials like food and cloth because companies and people and governments interact with different nations. Globalization could be positive and negative to many people around the world. Some positive things globalization does is boost the ongoing competition between countries all over the world. Globalization helps out the United States with material and cloth by example when people in the United States look at their shirts they will most likely see "Made In China".

It has become increasing undeniable that the process of globalization is present, and a strong force in the international market. “Globalization”, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is defined as, “ the development of an increasingly global economy especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets”. Before the start of the 1990’s, the United States had little competition in the international marketplace, and was as strong as ever. Globalization has opened the international market to cheap land and labor outside the United States. Corporations and businesses have outsourced many jobs from the United States labor markets, at the expense of United States labor. One of the biggest questions facing America today is if it is ready for Globalization. I believe that we are not ready for a variety of reasons, but there are a few that stand out in my mind. The top factors concerning the U.S. are ineffective nature of Congress, U.S. national debt, and overseas outsourcing.

Over the years, the United States has without any doubt changed. Whether or not it has changed for the better or worse, that depends on a persons perspective. Regardless the United States has passed through important stages in which pushed the movement of specific aspects of the evolution of this country. The golden age, the bronze age, the industrial revolution, which included the assembly line, were all stages of the nation that contributed to the current formation of the country today.

Change in America has constantly been occurring since we first colonized into this country. Since then, plenty of people have made tons of changes for the sake of our country to move forward as a whole. The changes made take a great deal of effort, and the people making these changes dedicate so much time and effort. The people involved in the changes want to help themselves, a group or section of people, or just want to change the society as a whole.

The world we live in today is going through enormous changes in economics, technology, culture, politics, etc. The effects of the changes are not so clear, since it is hard to predict how each sector would affect the other and how society will be affected. However, analyzing past and present occurrences provides some information for experts to interpret society’s reaction in the future to different transformations. Globalization can be seen as a process in which societies around the world come together and expand through the combination of different forces. This paper will explore the effects of globalization on US companies, US society and economy, and the implications for other countries in the post-industrial world.

On the 17th of December 2010 a young street vendor from Tunisia, frustrated, set himself on fire, and died a few weeks later as an infliction of this self-immolation. McNeill and McNeill agree with Pollard, Rosenberg, and Tignor that multiple economic changes, such as the creation of financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) contributed to the globalization of the world economy. Carter and Warren further this argument by claiming that globalization has caused shifts in the modern economy, namely the rise of Asian economic powers. However, all three historians agree that the rise of globalization goes hand in hand with the rise of inequality in today’s world. Gaps in power, wealth, and access to information have only widened due to the trend of globalization. The final key factor defining our world today are the ongoing processes affecting development countries. McNeill and McNeill argue similarly to Carter and Warren that the end of imperialism generated new nations who quickly realized the free market was a pathway to stability. However, Pollard et al. and McNeill and McNeill place importance on financial institutions like the IMF forcing developing nations to reform their economies to be subservient to the world’s economy. Together, these historians argue that the trend of globalization following WWII caused factors like the modern global economy, the rise in inequality, and the development of new, decolonized nations to be key determiners in the world today.

Thirdly, globalization has also effects on human socially, in their cultural and way of thinking. As countries always need to corporate with each other when they do some investment or business together, as neighbors engage in communication to determine their shared goals, and how they wish to live. Therefore globalization allows humanity to work together as a team towards noble goals rather than as individuals grasping to meet their own needs. Countries can bond to each others more closely.
