In the year 2005 the National Basketball Association was forever changed. The NBA and its commissioner agreed to a collective bargaining agreement. The agreement included Article X which is now known as “The One and Done Rule”. The document stated that to be eligible for the NBa a player must be at least 19 years old and have to be out of high school for one year. Article X was created to prevent high school players from entering the NBA when they were clearly not ready. It was also created to promote players at a collegiate level.

It is your job as the jurisdiction of the NBA, to make sure that the game does not regress, and that the fans are getting what they want. A couple of older rules that aren’t used in today’s game are: #7 “If either side makes three consecutive fouls, it shall count a goal for the opponents,” or #9 “when the ball goes out of bounds, it shall be thrown into the field of play by the person first touching it.” As you can see, Dr. Naismith’s game has changed a lot over time.

The scoring in basketball is also different; points can be scored in increments of one, two and three, these are scored by shooting the ball into a hoop. Basketball is a game that is played by skilled people who can jump high, shoot well, and have great ball handling skills. Basketball is played at a medium pace and can be very exciting and nail biting.
