Macbeth Essay Shakespeare made Macbeth into a tragic hero. Macbeth is of noble status, which is a reason he is a tragic hero. In Macbeth, the main character Macbeth is introduced as a general, and the Thane of Glamis and Cawdor, which are high up on the social status already (¨Shakespeare¨ 1.3.50-55). While he is still in these positions, there is nothing wrong with the world. However, his wife, Lady Macbeth, gets into his head, and leads him to become even more noble and powerful; she pushes him to be king(¨Shakespeare¨ 1.5.75-80). Inevitably, he murdered King Duncan and took his throne, and went even farther up the social pyramid. In the definition of a tragic hero, it is mentioned that the character is of noble status, which Macbeth is. The way he achieved his status as king is despicable, and surely to lead to disaster.

In the tragedy Macbeth, William Shakespeare shows his character Macbeth as a man with an ambition to become king of Scotland. The reason why Macbeth had discovered this ambition is because three bearded witches had told him so and he chose to believe them. His ambition to become king had led to his own downfall at the end because he changed his image as an honest man into one of a selfish murderer. At the beginning of the story Macbeth’s friends would describe him as an incredibly good man.
Macbeth is realizing the power that Banquo has and what his future truly is, “Our fears in Banquo stick deep, And in his royalty of nature reigns that Which would be feared. ’Tis much he dares; And to that dauntless temper of his mind He hath a wisdom that doth guide his valor” (III.i. 49-53) Macbeth’s ambition is getting to him. At first he thought getting rid of Duncan would be enough but now he seeing more murder is in place. He reveals that he fears Banquo and his prophecy.
In William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Macbeth, the main character of the play, Macbeth, is consumed with the ambition to become king. Nobody will stand in Macbeth’s way of the power that comes with the crown, or so he believes. Since Macbeth is motivated by his wife, Lady Macbeth, and the witches, who are also known as the weird sisters, his decision to murder for power creates his fatal destiny. Macbeth’s behavior is motivated by the push he is given by Lady Macbeth and the witches to steal the power of being king from his own kinsmen, Duncan.
Macbeth was widely seen and treated as a man of virtue, valiance, and nobility. However, now at a position of such high standing, he starts to act like Lady Macbeth. Like his wife, Macbeth began to hold a very single-minded train of thought and manipulated others to his benefit. For a secure spot on his throne, Macbeth resorted to planning the murder of Banquo, for “He hath a wisdom that doth guide his valor / To act in safety. There is none but he /

Macbeth’s story is full of sadness and evil deeds. The once loyal and lawful man, Macbeth, turns into a killing machine with little to no regard for human life. He is a man returning from a war he fought for King Duncan, when three witches approach and tell him he will be king. This piece of information fills Macbeth with lust for power. He at first does not want to kill anyone, but his wife implants thoughts into his head that make him think that killing to get what you want is ok.
Lady Macbeth can be considered a tragic hero other than Macbeth for many reasons, one of which being her raising social rank. Lady Macbeth was not born into a family with a noble heritage, she married into one. Her position as a thanes wife and, later on, Queen give her the first quality of a tragic hero. Duncan says to Macbeth, “My worthy Cawdor” (1.4.49)! This is where Duncan acknowledges that he is the thane of Cawdor and also where Lady Macbeth gets a higher rank. Her social standing goes up with her husband and he is now thane of Cawdor and Glamis, making him extremely important. Lady Macbeth, however, wants to be the most important lady in Scotland and have the highest social rank. Lady Macbeth can also be seen as a strong, brave and courageous woman who can easily get what she wants, which are also a few qualites of a tragic hero. When Lady Macbeth hears the posibilty of Macbeth becoming the King of Scotland, a switch in her personality occurs. She begins to conjur a plan on ways to help speed up the process of Macbething becoming king, and her queen, “Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full or direst cruelty” (I. V. 37-40). Lady Macbeth even says that she is willing to put her feminity aside so that she can complete such bloody actions to seize the crown for Macbeth and for herself. When Macbeth begins to doubt their plan of killing the king, and essentially taking the crown from him, Lady Macbeth steps in and says, “We fail? But screw your courage to the sticking place and we’ll not fail”(I. VII. 59-61). Lady Macbeth is what drives Macbeth to killing King
