Essay 2: The Cask of Amontillado The story “The Cask of Amontillado” was written by Edgar Allan Poe. This story is kind of mysterious. It talks about a man called Montresor and her enemy Fortunato. This character Montresor is really mad at Fortunato because he insulted him, so Montresor wants to get revenge by planning the death of Fortunate. Since the begging, he has started doing and saying suspicious things, and some of those suspicious acts I will be explaining them. “My dear Fortunato, you are luckily met. How remarkably you are looking to-day!,” (Page 373, Line 28). In this sentence Montresor acts really friendly toward Fortunato because he wanted to establish a conversation with him.
