Napoleon Bonaparte was the French leader in the late 1700s. He is known as an intelligent and clever military leader. He went to military school at the age of nine, and finished school at the age of 16 eventually becoming a lieutenant in the artillery. Napoleon Bonaparte had many successes and failures, however his failures overpowered his successes which makes him a tyrant. While leading he went into many wars and lost many soldiers. By the end many people were not on his side and many did not believe in what he was doing as the leader of France, therefore making him a villain for France. Napoleon Bonaparte had many weaknesses as a leader which caused him to have many defeats. The Directory selected Napoleon to lead the French army in 1796 and this is what got him started leading France and the people. To defend French trade Napoleon took his army to Europe and the British army trapped Napoleon and his army. Napoleon manipulated the people by keeping what had happened out of the news so that he could be known as a great hero to the French people. If he did not cover up that he was defeated and was trapped the French people might have realized that he failed at his duty and was not the best for leader for the army. …show more content…

This code had its strengths and weaknesses. It got rid of many injustices which was good for the country. Its weaknesses was that it got rid of Individual rights which the people just fought for in the revolutionary war. Freedom of the press and speech was restricted under the code. The code also made slavery legal again in the French Colonies of the Caribbean. This code might have fixed the injustices of the recent governments but it also brought slavery back which is a big controversial subject. Slavery should not be allowed and everyone should have individual
