Zane’s cousin lives in Paris, and in the 1960s, he could not reach her. He went to the airport to catch a plane to go visit her, but when the plane was in the air it crashed. Zane never got to Paris to see his cousin because they haven't advanced technology to reach across the world. Society has changed a lot since the 1960s. For example, women have more rights and they are treated more equally. Also, people are not judged as much as they used to in the 1960s. People may argue that society in the 1960s was safer than today, however we have more and newer laws and more advanced technology that can keep people safe. The article by Tasia Falcon it states, “Society has improved significantly since the 1960s with new, advanced technologies , such as cell phones and computers with internet” (Tasia Falcon). “People can keep in touch and meet new people easier and faster than 50 years ago. Now we have technology where we can do almost anything with the touch of a few buttons” (Tasia Falcon). This proves that people could find new friends and new places more faster in just a few clicks of a button. Additionally, the newer technology can keep the people more protected. People today might get judged, but not as much like the 1960s. Within the same article it states, “Society in 2010 consists of all different religions, ethnicity, customs and traditions mixed together” (Tasia Falcon). “In today's society, people get tattoos, piercings, and write books or songs without being judged or not told not to do it. Back then, people could have done these things, but with more judgement” (Tasia Falcon). This reveals that teenagers in the 1960s could not express themselves without being judged.
