Introduction In today’s society marketing and advertising has become a more prevalent part of our culture. As technology advances, companies are finding more ways to advertise for their products or services. This also presents the issue of, with all the different technology that people are using, i.e. cell phones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, etc., how do you market your product or service in a way that will get the user 's attention? One technique that companies have started using is “in your face” marketing or advertising. This type of marketing is also known as “guerrilla marketing” which is defined as “A marketing tactic in which a company uses surprise and/or unconventional interactions in order to promote a product or service. … Companies using guerrilla marketing rely on its in-your -face promotions to be spread through viral marketing or word-of-mouth, thus reaching a broader audience for free.”. Marketing has gone from a few pages in the newspaper, which you could easily skip through if you did not want to read them, to having infomercials as shows on TV or advertisements popping up every time you open an app on your phone.
