As a young educated African American women, I value up holding a strong reputation, equality, and being unbiased. Throughout my life I have notice how judgmental and hypocritical our society has become, which has not only impacted the way we view each other but it has also changed our values and morals. However, in order to understand our society you must understand what has impacted it over the years and one of those was music.
When I was in elementary school, I was passionate in music. After I entered high school, I have been told by my family and friends that I cannot make a living through music, so I decided to look for a different path for myself. I studied in science at high school and graduating in Finance from University. I cannot deny that education imparted by schools have helped me to balance my life and my personal goals when I grow older. I totally agree with Elliot “schools are essentially institutions created to serve the interests of the society” (Eisner, 1985, p.74). Our public schools have evolved historically to educate citizens and to process them into roles for economic production. I have been going to school for much of my life, I think my schooling has taught me the fundamental knowledge and skills I needed to survive in the society.
Ever since a young age I have known I enjoy being the center of attention. I aspire and chase after the satisfaction of performing perfect pieces of choreography. Whether that is hitting the right note in a song, or dancing my heart out on a stage. It makes me feel as though nothing is wrong and ignites endorphins in my brain. I'm in love with the feeling of my heart pacing fast, and then slowly easing into comfort the more time I spend on the stage. This love fuels the months of endless practice leading up. I was born with a voice and at 5 years old I was put in vocal lessons, at the local ABC Music. The first song I sang and played on the piano was "Part of Your World" from the little mermaid. I still hear the claps of the audience at my vocal instructors house. Singing is very meaningful to me, in fact I cannot stop myself, all my favorite songs just blurt out of my mouth. Music has the ability to evoke such deep emotions and beautiful voices aspire me to keep practicing.
Music. When I started in the band in 8th grade at Saints Francis and Clare, I didn’t really want to be there. It was just another class, in another day, of my last year of school. This began to change after I realized all of the amazing people I met in the band. Band led me to be happier and become friends with people who I never even knew I would meet. It has even lead me to a path that I would like to go into in the future. I love music and band so much that it has made me want to teach it or join a band as I go into college and just for the rest of my life. Through music I have even had the opportunity to meet some very amazing people, and I have been able to work next to some of those people.
Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there 's a poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared Leto 's career is something to behold. An award-winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don 't be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want to do.
I am impressed by the wide range of programs offered to your students. I have attended and participated in many events at the nearby University of Wisconsin Platteville campus. The UW-Platteville Center for the Arts there greatly enriched my childhood. UW- Platteville’s continued support of music, drama, and cultural events has influenced my views and has benefitted my hometown, Mineral Point in a positive way.
Music has impacted my life in both Band and Choir. One day in fourth grade, my old band teacher, Mr. Morong, introduced me to music. He brought out all these shiny, new instruments that I could in time musically prosper with. One instrument caught my eyes and my ears, the clarinet. It looked so beautiful, and I loved how you can play such wonderful melodies in a variety of ranges. I begged my parents to let me play and they soon gave in. I practiced hard every day. It was tough at first. When I first got my clarinet I couldn't even make a sound, and I started crying. By now, I have played solo’s in my school’s concerts, auditioned for IMEA, Solo and Ensemble and more. I think learning how to play an instrument and make music with it, taught
Has music ever impacted your life in some way? Music has impacted my life in numerous ways. Such as, defined my life, supports my exercise, as well as letting my soul to relax.
When you turn on the radio and change it to your favorite station, what are most of the songs about? In today’s society, the majority of them are probably about sex, drugs, and alcohol. These are the principles mainstream singers like Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj are pounding into young people’s minds. Instead of directing their music negatively, these artists should try to encourage respectable behavior among our youth. I believe that the negative lyrics in many popular contemporary songs have a negative influence on the youth of America.
I agree with you . I’m also not a music major student and this is also my first music class. It was also my first time hearing about this 5 amazing music artist. After listening to the same song such as "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" by Pete Seeger, "You Know I Love You" by B. B. King, "Purple Rain" by Prince, "The Spirit of India" by Ravi Shankar and "Big River" by Kongar Ol Ondar. They all have elements in there music that brings people together. As living in the 2000’s, we most likely hear mainstream music and don’t know what where tones and beats come from. For example, there beautiful tone , lyrics that tell story, and brings cultural music which we may not of known of. This five music artist have also Impacted my life as well. This
Music has affected every person in some form or way. It has a way of squeezing creativity out of the blandest of personalities. Starting as a freshman, I did not look forward to English 1101 because I thought it would take away my creativity. My biggest fear was that there would be limits to the amount of individuality that I would be allowed to let surface in my writing. Imagine being inside of a box. Your thoughts are refined and you hope for at least one tiny hole to be punched into that box. You want to bring a new perspective and individuality to the box. If you have to be in the box, you want to make the box your own. I expected English 1101 to give me very little creative ability; therefore, I did not look forward to my English 1101 class.
What is Music? Music is a vocal or instrumental sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. Today, I will be telling you how music inspired me in many different ways.
There was a period in my life when I gave careful consideration to music. This time, is known as youth. I was excessively occupied with my Ninja Turtles and G.I. Joes to try and consider music. This shouldn't imply that I didn't hear it out, however. Regardless of the frightful music we know so warmly call "the 80's" that was playing on the radio stations when a was a kid, despite everything I tuned in. I began focusing when I was nine years of age, and that is the point at which my tribulation with music all began. To pick up a superior comprehension of how music has changed my life throughout the years, we should begin from the earliest starting point of my musical learning course of events.
Music, it's a part of everyone's life. From childhood sing-a-long songs, to garage grunge music, and everything in between music is everywhere. Growing up with an extremely musical background it was in my genes that I would become a musician. Playing music has helped me become the person I am by being a release for my anger, broadening my future and make new friends..
Media takes all forms of shapes, from video games to music it influences people daily because we are always surrounded by it. Music especially impacts individuals because in a lot of ways it can say what we want to say in times when we as individuals cannot say it. In those times we lean on music to help us understand the hardship we are going through, or as a mechanism to face our feelings or to block them out. Interpersonal violence which is defined as an individual using power over another in the form of violence whether that be emotional, physical, or sexual. With the many forms of interpersonal violence it’s apparent that it has been expressed in the form of music for quite a while, and sometimes not always in a preventative way. By
