Life is all about change and accepting change. We all go through certain changes in our lives which either brings positivity or negativity in our live. It all depends on us that how we accept it. There comes a moment in our life when we have to take some decisions regarding the new change in our lives. Such moment came into my life when I completed my high school and I had to decide which institute is better for me to pursue my higher education. I thought about the issue and analyzed it deeply. Then, I took help from my father and we mutually decided that I should come to the United States of America, the land of opportunities, so that I could achieve my dream goals and objectives.

I had a roommate who was from Italy, we both faced many issues regarding communication because he would not make me understand what he was saying and I couldn’t understand what he was trying to tell me. Though, we both had such a good time together because we both were new in the country and we both explored the local areas together. Later, he left because he moved to some other place. Meeting new people is also part of my experiences of studying here because it makes you understand nature of different people and it is more like meet and greet session with different cultures that are living in one country.
My experience in the United States of America has been extremely good so far because I got a chance to be student of teachers who were always very kind to me. During my studies here, I got the opportunity to learn about new courses which I never even knew about when I was in my country. Coming to from a Middle-Eastern background and then settling in the USA was a big decision, but it turned out to be the best decision of my life. I consider myself lucky that I got this opportunity and it will take me closer to my future

I was afraid that what if they don't talk to me. I didn't want to be hurt. I had no confidence in myself, but then my friend motivated me. For example, when you are not native speaker, you often do not understand the in-class lectures because the teachers here have different accent and they speak fluently than us. It happened with me a lot because to understand teacher’s word, I used to miss everything what she says. Later, to resolve this problem, I connected to my local resident friend, who was a native speaker and understood my problem quickly. Whenever I needed help in any regard, I communicated with my friend and I discussed my issues with him. I think that when you take some decision, God always makes the ways for you. All that you need is to be confident about what you decide. Rest, you will learn the skills that are needed.
English has become a global language now, which means that everyone should learn this language even if they are not native English speakers. I consider myself lucky now that I got a chance to study here because I would not have given the same importance to English language in my life as much I appreciate it now because I have understood that it will not just help me here in my academic life but it will also bring the productive side of me when I will start my professional life. I am glad that I am studying in abroad because I have learnt a lot that consists of new
I notice so many different cultures and ethnicity, which amazed me because in my country you only saw Dominicans and maybe sometimes if you could afford to go to a resort you could, see Caucasians, but that was not very diverse like the united states I was excited in exploring this country, but I the same time I was very scared because it was a big change and the language was different. Now I had to adapt to a new culture, new people and new friends. Everything to me felt like a challenge.
At first, I was resistant to change but now I am glad I became open-minded and adapted to the new way of life. It was not an easy transition for me, however, I have faced every obstacles head on such as learning a new language, graduating from high school, and attending college. I can honestly say my mom was right I have made new friends and have grown to love and appreciate my family members that I have met. I know there will be more awesome moments in my life that can have a major impact, but I truly believe they will never be as big as me coming to
I have not travel to any other country before. My father told me that I would love it there and it will gives me more opportunities for my career. Reluctantly, I agree to move, though it wasn’t really my choice. America have a good education plan and I am glad I got to experience the opportunity to study here. As soon as I arrive in America, I started school.
As far as I am concerned, moving to the United States has taught me a lot. Indeed, even though I had already come to this country several times before for vacation, there are a lot of aspects that I had not thought about. For instance, its people, their mentalities, the culture, the system especially in education. When I first arrived, I had a hard time transitioning from the French to the American system. In addition, the
Moving to America, was a difficult transition for me. I had come to the realization that I wasn’t going to see my friends any time soon back in Iran and that was hard to overcome at a young age. I was alone as a child because my siblings are a lot older than me, and my parents’ had the challenge of starting over because they had left everything behind in Iran. However, that wasn’t going to get in the way of me succeeding in school. I have always been a fast learner, by the age of eight I had already learned four languages. Also, I was voted most improved by my classmate every year I was in Elementary School. This might not seem like a big achievement, but as a young student in a new country it was a huge motivation boost for me to improve every
Until now my experiences in this country had been very special to me. For the first time, I had to be away from my family. I was forced to make every decision without being reliant on the wisdom of elders. For the first time, I saw and spoke to
My parents raised me in a small town in the Philippines. We are not wealthy, but my parents provided us more than we need. In my country, if a family can eat three times a day, they are not considered poor. That is why some people there tend to leave the country for them to support their families. Since I was a child, going to America is one of my dreams. I immediately took the chance when my parents allowed me to study here. At first, I am so excited but as time goes by, I felt the sadness of being away from my family and friends. That is not enough reason for me to give up. I will become successful here in America because I am not afraid of failures, I am self-disciplined and lastly, I have set goals in
The events that we experience in our lives influence how we develop and change in each stage of our lives. Life pushes us through changes at particular point. These periods of change are all transition points which can be little unsettling. They are usually counterbalanced by periods of clam and stability. These changes may make us feel awkward or even be painful but they are necessary because life does not stand still.
While the language was the same, the culture and academics were polar opposites of what I was used to. I had no choice but to let my guard down, learn more about the world and be secluded from the support that I had back home. I grew tremendously as a student and more importantly as a person through the discomfort of living abroad alone. The challenges faced and conquered during this
Moving to America was the biggest change in my life. Before, I know very little of this world and my thoughts and opinion were very narrow. I did not have the best education and I think little about my future since I lived in a refugee camp. I also could not open myself up to people of different background because of the lack of diversity while living in the camp. But moving to America I was introduced with a new culture, education, and diversity that changes my life and my views.

The privilege to move to California has exposed me to many different cultures. This has allowed me to grow in many ways. The opportunity to listen and learn was there for the taking and I indulged. I now live in a neighborhood filled with people much different from myself My children's classrooms are filled with people from around the globe. I also have a diverse group of friends that I very much enjoy and spend time with.
If I ever came across a muslim I would ask him (her) about what he (she) did before they came to America. I would ask them about their religion and then I would tell them about my religion. We would probably talk for a little bit about many different things. So if I ran into a Muslim I think God would want me to talk to him (her) and get to know them.
My interest in learning English is due to the fact that I have always liked to challenge myself. Even though many of my friends and family warned me from majoring in English, as it would be difficult for me, I have accepted the challenge. I have always felt that learning English would increase myself confidence and have people around me impressed. This interest has also grown through my passion in learning about languages, cultures, and traditions. Where I come from, Saudi Arabia, a big number of people came from different countries and spoke different languages. I have realized that English could be a means to interact with a lot of people speaking different languages. I have also realized that English is the lingua franca of today’s world with no close rivals. Learning English actually
