Some examples of how people face adversity: People face adversity by not panicking and not being nervous, taking a positive attitude and by facing their fears, and this some examples of how people in real life faced adversity like michael Jordan,Bethany Hamilton and cpt.sullenburger.
Michael Jordan adversity was that when he was in high school he went to try out for the basketball but the coach told him that he was too short to be in the team.and he faced his adversity by not giving up and by working out so he could get taller to try out for the basketball team the next year and the next year he tried out and he was on of the best basketball players in the whole world.
Bethany hamiltons adversity is that she was surfing in the middle of the
Everyday, we go through situations and experiences that affect us in someway, perhaps even change us. Different situations have different effects. The more difficult the situation is, the more of an effect it has on us. Those hard times can be called adversity. How do we, as humans, react to adversity? What are the possible effects it may have?
Adversity is when someone faces a difficult event or misfortune. This can affect people in many different ways. Some people shut down and give up but others grow and become stronger when facing adversity. In the short stories called “The Sniper” by Liam O’Flaherty and “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell the characters face different kinds of adversity and find a way to overcome it. In “The Sniper” the character faces adversity because he is in a war and kills many other human beings and he ended up killing his own brother. This is a major misfortune for the main character because he lost someone he card about and it was his own fault. But, he did not give up on his own life after this event, instead, he decided to never pick up a weapon and point it at any human being again. In “The Most Dangerous Game” the main character named Rainsford faces adversity because in the story, a man named Zarnoff, who hunts people for living, is now hunting Rainsford. So, Rainsford has to overcome his fears and use his knowledge to defeat Zarnoff. So, a person needs to be very ambitious and hardworking to overcome adversity.
Adversity is defined as difficulties or challenges presented to us. This can be anything that troubles someone or gives them a hard time in life. Yes we are all faced with adversity but what is different is how it is overcome. Everyone has their own way by either reacting or responding. Accepting the adversity and trying to change it into something better. Some people just crack under calamity.
Overcoming adversity is a process in which a person takes control of a difficult situation and learns from it. Adversity is a great teacher. But how one overcomes it is what counts. Though out the way people learn particular qualities about themselves and others. From this they have time to learn and grow from experiences faced.
Michael Jordan is one of the most successful basketball players of all time, due to one coach said he was too short. He wanted to prove his coach wrong, and this motivated him to become The Best. So he worked very hard to become a superior basketball player. This means he never gave up and that failure pushed him in the right direction - success. Most people, like Michael Jordan learn more from failure/defeat than they do from success/winning.
Another way people overcome adversity is through teamwork. For example, in the movie “Remember the Titans”, after coach Boone realizes the amount of racial tension and how it was affecting the team, he takes his team on a run to Gettysburg and says “If we don't come together right now on this hallowed ground, we too, will be destroyed, just like they were.” Coach Boone gives this speech to tell his players that without teamwork and respect, they are not going to learn anything or go anywhere. This shows that no matter where you come from or who you are, you need to work together with others and respect one another. Lastly, people overcome adversity with faith.
Adversity will be overcome when one becomes brave , determined , and has the willingness to fail.As being born without a arm, baseball player Jim Abbott, had a long journey ahead of him.Or the brave runners who ran the Boston Marathon after two bombs went off at the finsh line. last year.Even Malala Yousafzai, a young who got shot in the head by the taliban because she thought that girls all girl should get an education. All of these people remember to maintain in control , be brave , and accept failure when overcoming adversity.
Of course, adversity is ultimately inevitable in life. When a problem arises, individuals are generally astonished at the response to the complexity of the situation. This makes adversity becomes a wall that is unable to be broken down. However, there is a point in an individual where their instincts can reveal the truth, “it’s part of life to have obstacles, it’s about overcoming obstacles, that’s the key to happiness.” Qualities and characteristics of individuals are revealed during the hard times. These talents that are within us, that are usually locked up to give the ability for an individual to unlock the adversity that it created. In this sense, an individual true color and nature can be revealed leading to a new understanding of the capability to overcome adversities.
Adversity doesn't only elicit talents and shape character in extreme situations; many people’s first experience of adversity is found in school sports. Growing up I was part of eight SAISA tournaments that have all changed who I am. In my experiences I faced a range of challenges, challenges that in any other situation I would have never come across. The most vivid situation was at SAISA football 2013. We had just reached the final of the tournament and with a big crowed at the pitch there was a lot of pressure, but that wasn’t the challenge I would be facing. Just five minutes into the match I came under a harsh headed tackle from an opposition player and as a result I spilt my eyebrow open. At first it wasn’t that bad, I tried to stand up but fell back down, then I felt the blood drip down my face and roll into my ear. I was then taken to the hospital, because the nurse feared a concussion. My character was strengthened
When adversity strikes, am I a carrot, egg, or coffee bean? That is a complex metaphorical question that requires thoughtful deliberation before being answered. A carrot, egg, and coffee bean all respond to the same adversity (boiling water) in different ways. A carrot enters boiling water strong and hard, but comes out weak and soft. When an egg enters boiling water it is fragile, but afterwards the inside becomes hard. The coffee bean that is subjected to boiling water actually changes the water and releases a pleasant fragrance and flavor. Responding to adversity the way a coffee bean does would probably be the best option, but I do not feel that I respond like a coffee bean during every adverse situation I face. In reality, I feel that I respond to varying situations in different ways, as a carrot, egg, and coffee bean.
When someone is forced to live with an adversity there is many different ways an they could cope with it. I believe the best two ways to overcome adversity is to be able to have imagination and patience. With these two skills anyone can push their way through the difficulties and ultimately overcome them.
Adversity is something that many people are able to over come, most people can by themselves, others it requires a lot of help and if they work together and set aside petty fears it will be overcome. When they come out to the other side they will be stronger that before both mentally and/or
As a person on this earth we all face adversity everyday whether you know it or not. These two stories demonstrate Adversity really well. The first story is “The Most Dangerous Game.”(Connell) The second Story is “The Sniper.”(O’Flaherty) In “The Most Dangerous Game” a man gets stranded on a island. He then finds a house on this island in the middle of nowhere and there is this man there. He is a skilled hunter like the man stranded, he invites him in for dinner and for hunting stories. He then reveals that he has killed every animal there is and now he hunts humans. In “The Sniper.” There is a sniper and he is getting shot by a enemy sniper. The enemy sniper hits him in the shoulder. He then puts his helmet on top of barrel of his gun. The enemy sniper shoots his helmet he then throws his body on a barrier. The enemy sniper puts his weapon down and then he get shot by the other sniper. The Sniper goes to check on his kill and it turns out he killed his brother. There is one major quality you need to overcome adversity and that is Bravery.
I think that adversity leads to growth. People can grow from their mistakes. In this essay I am going to show you how people learn from their mistakes.
During my time in sixth form I was my form classes charity representative. During this time I organised a charity event supported by local radio and news for the class to visit five local homes in the area and carolled to them. In this situation I had to lead and organise my class of 30 pupils. Furthermore, in terms of personal circumstances in my first year of university I had Bell’s Palsy and missed a month of university. However, I was still able to achieve over 60% in my summer exams, which I believe shows my resilience and
