The federal government has approved guidelines on gun ownership which includes registration of all guns, proof of ownership and a clean background check. Even though the Second Amendment prevents the federal government from completely banning guns in America, there are still restrictions on the distribution and possession of firearms. Each of the states have their own specific gun laws but generally, a person must obtain a license or permit to purchase or possess a firearm. Also, another thing to note is that all states allow some form of concealed carry, which is carrying a concealed firearm in public. According to the President (2013) "We know that we cannot stop every act of violence with guns, but what if we tried to stop even one?" Weapon controls in the U.S. is structured at a state level and each state has their own restrictions on gun control. In different parts of the nation, there is significantly more resistant to firearm laws. For instance, in Texas, the gun law permits individuals to carry handguns on their side like in the cowboy era. In Kansas, firearm owner is not required to have a permit to concealed weapon. In Missouri there is not required that a gun salesman to have a background check or a waiting period. However, there is a requirement to take a gun class, once you pass the class a buyer can purchase a gun then register it with the sheriff department. In California a person can petition the court to remove a firearm from a family member capable of violence.

Pilots disarmed stated; "For 40 years prior to 9/11 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rule allowed commercial airline pilots to carry firearms in the cockpit. The rule was adopted in the wake of the 1961 Cuban missile crisis as a measure to prevent hijackings." Just two months before 9/11 the FAA rescinded the rule. The FAA also failed to answer any questions or return any calls asking about why they did so. This shows maybe the government had something to do with 9/11 or they think we can deal with these catastrophes. In the report "U.S. Pilots Seeking to Carry Firearms." Sara Kehaulani said; "despite other steps taken to protect aircraft from strengthening the cockpit doors to train air crews to resit hijackings many pilots say they will continue to feel unsafe until they are allowed to carry guns."These pilots are gonna do this because they are concerned for the safety of the passengers and themselves. Its a concern that will not go away until the needs are met. They have tried to strengthen the doors and every aspect of security to keep the plane safe and nothing works. It takes more thank just a strong door and a pilot who can fly the plane. There are just to many dangers to the pilots. These pilots are not gonna be hijacked of we armed them, but if we ignore the fact that nothing else is preventing the hijackings they will keep

British Airways (BA) is a company that encountered several difficulties back in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The poor performances of the organization, was leading the company to failure. BA was offering a service that even though it accomplished the mission of the company, was not providing customer satisfaction. The organization was not taking into consideration the needs of the costumer and was not providing an acceptable customer service experience. “Productivity at BA in the 1970s was strikingly bad, especially in contrast to other leading foreign airlines” (Jick, Peiperl, 2010, p.28). Due to numerous changes, the company increased their revenues and became a respectful and well know organization.

In 2006 the FlyersRights.org was formed by Kate Hanni because she and her family were stranded for 9 hours on the tarmac in Austin, Texas. They were not allowed to leave the aircraft and were forced to endure the heat and smells filling the cabin from the on board lavatories. The passenger Bill of Rights was not new at that time, FlyersRights.org stated "The bill, which had been stalled in Congress since at least 1999, allows passengers the option of getting off delayed planes after 3 hours on the ground, and requires airlines to provide adequate food, water, temperature controls, ventilation and working toilets to accommodate a 3-hour delay" (FlyersRights.org, 2013). Due to Kate Hanni's persistence her congressman Democrat Mike Thompson introduced legislation which would force airlines to allow passengers to deplane after 3 hours on the tarmac.
