The mission at Zebulon B. A wise woman once said, “We learned about honesty and integrity, that the truth matters, that you don’t take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules and success doesn’t count unless you earn it fair and square” (Michele Obama). As a young ambitious girl, developing into a competent, strong and successful student, I’ve learned that hard work is the foundation of a successful future. When I think about a strong foundation, I imagine a community that promotes integrity, honesty, and academic excellence. Truth is, I imagine Renaissance High School. I imagine a learning institution that promotes growth, and success while building the leaders of tomorrow.

The motto was: “The Standard of Excellence, An Education for Life”. The first part tells us that the school holds high expectations for their students. From the 26% acceptance rate to the dress code that is very strict it shows how the school just doesn’t teach you skills for school but rather skills for life. The education won’t just help you in the workplace, but in everyday life. The education learned at Hampton is very broad for your life.

Growing up in a small school has been such a blessing. It taught me the importance of including people. Many kids come to Coastal Christian because of the smaller environment and because they were left out at other schools. At Providence Hall, you can see that the students have a true love for learning. The school uses a multi-sensory learning environment to have the students be confident learners throughout their adulthood.

My change will affect my school in a positive way by helping the kids in it. I plan on bringing clothes money and food to the poor kids in the school. I can better the school by bettering the people in it. This shows how my change will affect my school and the helpless and poor in it.

Everyone in their childhood has a moment that stands out and defines who they are. Mine is a moment, but is also part of my background. This came about in my nine year Catholic education. I attended St. James Catholic School from when I was a kindergartner until I graduated eighth grade. I am the third generation of my family to attend St. James, and can still remember my first day as a kindergartner. I walked into school with the same feeling as all of my other kindergarten classmates with a blank face and did not know which direction to go. Kids, who I thought were giants, guided me to class. From that time on I looked up to them as my friends, and could count on them if I needed help. For the next nine years that building was my home, but I can recall a moment in second grade that sky rocketed me in my Catholic faith. This moment was when I made my First Communion.

Whether or not a person admits it, everyone on the planet has the desire to be remembered. They want to leave an impression on the people around them and leave those people with fond memories of who they were and what they did. For me, the idea of making an impact on someone’s life was my ultimate goal. However, it took me a while to discover how exactly that goal would be achieved.

In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person’s perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn’t necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life.

Throughout my education, I had so many challenges I had to overcome. Dealing with school, personal life, and sports. Dealing with all of these problems has shaped me up as a person.
