By the time that I was twelve, I discovered that I love to read. It is the best pass time that I could find to do. Every time I open up a book it's as if I'm in my own world, a place of bliss. Like I'm watching a movie in my head but I'm the director. I find it easier to read in complete silence that way my thoughts can echo out much further and louder. One of the things that I usually do is stop in the page that I'm reading in and start asking myself questions and try to foreshadow what I might believe will happen at the end.
Although, I am a realist, reading has been an escape from reality into a world where it feels like I'm living a different life. A place where the author gives me the opportunity to expand my imagination. In my mind, opening up a new book is like opening up a door into the mind of someone else. Reading to me is an escape from the hardships in my life. When there were problems that I need to get away from a book was always there for me. No matter how good or bad my day was, reading improved it. It brought peace to my mind that while the world kept going on around me that I was able to tone it out and focus on one thing only. That the book that I held in my hands was able to be a different place that I could travel.

Reading is an important part of who I am however I find it difficult to find the perfect atmosphere to truly enjoy it 100%. I find it that the perfect place that I can fully enjoy myself is a comfortable quiet place. A location where the only sound that should be there are my thoughts. That way I can enjoy what I am reading and I can absorb the story entirely. It has to be cut off from anything disturbing; is able to provide me a place to
One of my all time passions is reading. I credit my love of reading to my dad, who has spent a great portion of his life reading as well. Some of my earliest memories are of my dad reading Harry Potter to me and my siblings, though I was the only child listening. My love of reading has only grown since then. Through reading I have learned about countless worlds and thousands of stories. I have discovered myself in between the pages of many different books, and I have learned more about people and the world arund me. Of all the ways to spend time, reading may be my absolute
Reading is a wonderful pastime. It allows me to mentally travel to far away lands in the present, the archaic past, or the advanced technological future. Reading allows me to be present during every struggle or joy the protagonist may face. It is a wonderful way to learn about fascinating cultures without physically traveling to other lands. It is a gateway to long, sleepless nights because I can become fully entranced by a story. Favorite books of mine include Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. Both of these stories wonderfully illustrate internal human conflict as well as love, loyalty, and emotional and physical pain. These are just a few of the joys of
Reading a good book is one of the most important and relaxing things a young mind can do. Sometimes, I’ll sit outside and read. The sounds of the neighborhood can relax the mind and immerse you into a good story. Cats meowing, dogs barking in the distance, and a car hitting a turn at a bit high of a speed might not suit a specific story, but for me, they draw me into the story all the more.
Not only as a kid did I like reading but I also liked writing! And well I still do. As a kid, I kept a journal of everything I did. I stopped when I was around nine but I still find it hilarious to go back and read what I was thinking. This just makes good memories to look back at and now I wish I would’ve kept writing so I could enjoy reliving these moments of my
Reading has been one of my favorite hobbies since I was a little child. I grew up as a normal child should grow and eventually I had to start learning for me to fit in society. My literacy started many years ago, after I knew how to talk and communicate with people. Reading my alphabet was quite stressful and I had to be given a hand by my family members. I remember my parents reading with me and it was the most meaningful and memorable way to spend time with me. This is because I liked reading a lot and I was eager to learn so that I could fit in with my older siblings. My favorite books were storybooks taking about adventures and fairytales
I could have started volunteering with the intentions of doing just for the sake of giving back to the community I grew up in. Instead, I did it because I was forced to. I was forced into waking up every Saturday for an entire month before seven a.m. to be at the library with adults and a bunch of kids half my age. I could have sat there reading a book for school and minding my own business. Instead of being miserable my entire summer, I decided to try my hardest to help children to love reading as much as I do.
When I’m reading, it doesn’t really matter where I read. When I’m reading I go into a different world and get to a place where I feel as if I’m part of the story and can relate to the main character and what he or she is going through. Also, when I’m reading I think the best place for me would be where it’s quiet because I find it easier to concentrate in silence. I also read better when I’m upset because it gives me an outlet to release anger and allows me to get my work done. All throughout my life, I’ve had many good experiences reading. When it comes to reading, for me, good reading just comes
Reading takes you so many different places. From a perfect world to a world where you can’t control your thoughts or the things you do. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s scary. You get pulled into the book and now your the kid who keeps reliving the last day of their life over and over again or the kid who is getting sucked into the closet into a new world away from their life at home.
Books are an escape from reality for me. All kinds of people have different methods that work just for them, and I'm happy that mine is reading. I read the fantastic thriller as each page contains awesome action and heart wrenching romance. The fuzzy static sound traveling from the TV snaps my attention up from my reading. "Our next guest is an absolute pleasure to have on this show," An annoying blonde haired woman dressed in a black pencil skirt and matching skirt practically yells loudly through the TV screen. It's just then when my phone vibrates. I pick it up a se who it was.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved reading. Even when I was just learning how to read in elementary school, I enjoyed it. However, because of the heavier workload in college and needing to work I do not have as much time to read leisurely as I would like. When I do get the opportunity to read, I dive right in and read quickly as to fill myself until the next chance. For example, over Christmas break I read a three book series in a little over twenty-four hours because I craved reading that much. As I start a book, I begin by getting a feel for the characters and by the half way point I am in the same world as the book. I love feeling like I am a fly on the wall in a story: witnessing all the events, hearing the things they say, following my favorite characters throughout their lives. When I read I become so engulfed in the story that I hate for it to end, no matter how good the ending is.
At this point in my life, reading would definitely not make a list of my favorite things to do, but this wasn’t always the case. Some of my youngest memories involve reading, and many of these memories are enjoyable. Every night before bed my mom would read to me, and I remember begging to read just one more before she tucked me in almost every night. This is when my love for reading sparked. Throughout grade school, I continued to read frequently and never found it to be a chore; however, once middle school hit I no longer included reading as a past time or found it pleasurable. Looking back now I realize this was when English class included more forced literature, and school consisted of reading extensive pages in textbooks. Reading
When I had nothing to do, and I did not have cable when I was little, I would just take a book and read it. Now, I am sometimes too busy to have time to read in my free time but I do in the summertime. I remember me and my brother, Rafay, would get as many books as we can from the library and do a competition. We would compete to see who can finish the most number of books. I don’t remember who won, but I would say I did. I also remember I use to do other competitions with my classmates. Me and my classmate would pick a book to read and then compete to see who would finish it first. Reading was a great way to pass time when I had nothing to do. Along the way, as I got older, I also learned things about myself that I never
Everybody reads. Everybody has picked up a book at least once in their life and flipped through its pages. Everybody reads, but once they reach that final page, do they feel an indifference, or do they feel a personal connection? From early childhood to young adulthood, reading has always been a part of my life. Reading had always been important to me because as a child, I was very shy, and being an only child, I had a lot of time on my own, so I often turned to books to fuel my urge for adventure. Reading became personal to me at a very young age because I read as if I was living in the book myself. Ever since that point in my life, my joy of reading continued to flourish. The pages of my books grew thicker and thicker as I aged, and the genres broadened and the vocabulary matured. Literature has played a meaningful role in my life since the very beginning and helped shape me into the kind of person I am today, it has influenced my personality directly, and the close relationship I hold with literature.
Reading is one of the most beneficial activities a man can do. Out of reading, man can be able to discover new things, concepts, places and people. More so, reading is a way to relax our mind and soul, going deeply through the world of story and improves our thinking and internalization process.
Reading is enjoyable for the average reader because people can learn astronomical words that they can use when they are speaking to other people. When a person is reading, they are able to expand their thinking. Also, reading helps fix any writing mistakes that the average person may be struggling with. Reading helps the person become a critical thinker and knowledgeable about what is going on in this world. Reading can expand the average person’s thoughts on certain topics. Without reading, people will not know how to be a critical thinker, utilize big vocabulary words, and speak to others properly. The reason why I enjoy reading books because I learn from what I am reading, I learn new words that I can utilize, and I enjoy
