There has been a large growth in technology, communication has grown drastically. It is easier and in most cases cheaper to communicate with others through the world wide web. If you have family members who complain about the cost of travel to visit, distance is no longer an excuse for not communicating and staying in contact with the people you love. In my essay, I will list many ways to communicate with others on the internet. Here you can share pictures, ideas, text messages, and pictures with many people at the same time. Social media is very popular in today’s society.
There are many social media sites that people use today in order to communicate with others, like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, SnapChat, Pinterest, and YouTube to name a few that I use daily. My first article discusses the relationship between the use of Facebook, which is a very popular online social network. “Social network sites such as Friendster, Cyworld, and Myspace allows individuals to present themselves, articulate their social networks, and establish connections with others”(Lampe, Ellison, & Steinfield,2007). “These sites can be orientated towards work related content ( LinkedIn.com), romantic relationship invite (Friendster.com), or basically everyone uses ( Facebook.com)” (Lampe, Ellison, & Steinfield,2007).
