Tetris is a product of the time when it was conceived. It exemplifies the elements that were commonly found in games at the time, while still presenting original ideas, and also captured both the period’s core gaming audience and new players alike. A simple, tile-matching puzzle game, Tetris is comprised of the elements typically found in arcade-style games: mechanical, component, spatial, interface, visual, and audio.
