It was too late, she is a vicious beast, mean and cruel. Her former self looked like it was ripped from her face or someone had taken a hammer to a mirror and she was the fallen pieces, broken and shattered . She is an animal at least for mortal eyes. It was twilight just like the old woman said at the tavern. “At the stroke of midnight, all your wants and desires will be paid through the girl”. Now she paid and their wishes were wished and granted”. “We have come for what we got, it’s time to go before she turns”. No one must know about this, especially father. We will say the witch got Lilith, that’s what basically happened. Now we live in wealth and live happy with the gift of eternal youth. People will never understand, not …show more content…
“The biggest one yet”. Then laughter. I don’t need to listen any more, this is a trap, but, I suspected one. Now all the pieces fitted in place my brain, does all the crazy calculations like it does and I figured a way out. The old man that I suspect is Erle starts to talk. “Oh beautiful long blond hair, skin soft as silk, eyes of blue like the color of the ocean. Pretty girl you are”. As his wrinkly scratchy fingers, rub against my shoulder, then tries to touch my hair. I smack his hand. “Oooo frisky a fighter, how do you feel my dear, you must be exhausted”. “I feel violated”. “Does he scare you my pretty”? “Who”? “The man who brought you …show more content…

Here comes the worst part the pain I don't even want to see my spreading of this poison Never again. I turn my head, I don't even wish to see. I turn to the man. I look at him. I am my myself
Chapter eleven begins with harassment from the evil, old neighbor, Mrs. Dubose. She was ruthless and scroogelike. One day Jem wanted to empty his pockets at the store up town for Scout and himself. He was selfless and bought his sister a baton to play with. On the stroll back from downtown Maycomb county he saw that Mrs. Dubose was not present on her front porch. Jem had been bottling up Mrs. Dubose’s horrible remarks for days and he finally burst when they drew near to her front gate. Jem ran to the front of the house with Scout’s baton and wreaked havoc on her all of her camellia bushes. When he was finished he broke the baton and threw it on the ground. Jem would later confess to Atticus when he got home. Atticus kept his cool and told him
Still looking around through pitch black darkness I hear it again, louder and closer this time. My heart beats a bit faster in a panic of fear and adrenaline, and my eyes dart to the foot of the bed, hoping to see nothing and calm down. But instead, at the foot of the bed I can barely make out
The five aspects of QUEST are the quester, a place to go, a stated reason to go there, challenges and trials, and the real reason to go. The quester: a young woman, unhappy in her marriage and her life, not too old to learn, and not assertive where men are concerned. A place to go: Southern California from her home near San Francisco. A stated reason to go there: she has been made executor of the will of her former lover, a wealthy and eccentric businessman and stamp collector. Challenges and trials: the heroine meets strange, scary, and dangerous people. She goes on a nightlong excursion through the world of the outcasts and the dispossessed of San Francisco. The real reason to go: she must find out who she can rely on.
What insight does the reader gain about race in Maycomb from observing Scout’s visit to Calpurnia’s church? Consider race, relations, racism, and community. Support your ideas with text-based evidence.
Most people have bad history with people in their family. They often feel abandoned. They eventually learn how to cope with it.
Throughout chapters 3 and 4, a boy named Burris Ewells insulted his teachers and left school. Convincing Scout wanting to leave school? Scout plays with Jem and Dill becoming Ms. Radley. Reacting the scene, when Mr. Radley, got stabbed with scissors by Boo. Atticus stops the play. Scout remembers she heard a laughter after the incident.
Atticus assuaged the accusation made against Tom Robinson. The taciturn child sat alone at the trial. The man’s repertoire consisted only of farming.
Chapter Two starts off with Herb's three closest friends arriving to clean the Clutter home. At the same time, Perry and Dick go to Mexico using fake checks. In Holcomb, everyone is distrustful of their neighbors, people lock their doors, keep their lights on at all times, and suspect people they've known their whole lives. Bobby Rup, Nancy's boyfriend, is considered the main suspect; however, he is ultimately ruled out even though he is the only person who has a reasonable motive for the murders. Back in Dick and Perry's storyline, parts of Perry's horrible childhood filled with abuse and abandonment are shared with the reader. Within the Clutter investigation, the Holcomb police rule out robbery as a motive, but after finding a missing radio,
I am reading To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and I am on page 212. These next few chapters were very interesting. In chapter ten, we learned that Atticus used to be a sharp shooter. Atticus shot Tim Johnson the dog that had rabies. In chapter ten we found out that it is a sin to kill a Mockingbird, because all Mockingbirds do is sing peacefully.

When she gets near it she notices it's two pieces of gum. She takes it home, and after some testing to make sure it wasn't poison she chews it. Jem is not very found of the idea and makes her spit it out and the gargle.
I have read chapters ten through fifteen in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In these chapters multiple important events occur. Some of these events include a mad dog named Tim being killed, Jem creating a unique bond with Mrs. Dubose, Jem and Scout attending church with Calpurnia, and Dill sneaking home. In this journal, I will be characterizing Atticus Finch.
In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, we are introduced to Jean Louise Finch - A.K.A. “Scout” – an eight-year-old girl living in Maycomb County, Alabama with her older brother Jem and her widowed father, Atticus. During an important summer, Jem and Scout meet Dill; a boy who heightens their curiosity about the Radley’s - specifically Arthur “Boo” Radley - a man who hasn’t left his house in years, causing the children to make extreme speculations about him. After Scout’s first year of school, in which she absolutely hated, Dill returns in the summer, and Jem, Scout and Dill attempt to catch a glimpse of Boo, which almost gets them shot by Arthur’s brother, Nathan, and caught by their father. During Scout’s second year of school,
Racial relations have always been hard. No matter, if they were between Christians and Muslims, Germans and Jews, or even the White and Black men, we have always been racially prejudiced as a whole people. A lot of countries’ government workers like to separate the minority just because of their skin color or the sound of their voice, especially, the white and black men in the United States. Many families are still not letting their daughters date a dark skin. Many cops are literally arresting African Americans for everything. It hasn’t changed much through history. I believe all we have done to change this prejudice is getting rid of an abundance of segregation laws and many more friendships are biracial. Our history of prejudice is horrible, yet it is evolving into something a little smaller, such as, the Tom Robinson case in the ‘30s, the Scottsboro Trials in the ‘30s, the Emmet Till Murder Trial, and also the case of Bruce v. Samuels.
