Wait, what is this I am hearing? I am certainly not evil one bit. How could someone ever think that I, the Queen of Hearts, am evil. Not in my life would I ever kill Alice! She is such a sweet girl you know. You probably do because she is the nice one and I am “evil”. Also, I did not make a card army to destroy my dear citizens lives! You’ll know what it is like to be lonely. Most importantly, I would never have someone’s head chopped off. You can get arrested for murder you know. I know I am the queen but, this is just terrible. I would put myself in jail. But really… Me? Evil? I guess Alice has told a big lie... First of all, why would I kill her?! Alice is a very close friend of mine and we do get in arguments a lot but, kill her? You see,
- He offered me to take the blame, but I know that did not kill Jill and that man. I could not. I loved Jill - contritely said the man and shut by the hands face. - I saw how he killed her and was unable to help ... no one believes me, and ye believe not. So why come? Convince me that I is guilty? - Tom shouted loudly and dramatically jumped out of bed, his face was purple, his eyes were bloodshot, the veins on his neck swelled and began to throb. - And all because you find it easier to shift the blame on me, than to find the
Hi Alice! How are you doing? Fine? I hope so.
Let’s start off by assuming all of this was just because she was evil. If that were the case, would she have ran away at the end? The answer, my dear Watson, is
After being disowned by her parents, she was determined to kill her sister and take her place as the Queen of Wonderland. “The queen is head. Long live the
(Juan and Eva are arriving to a night at the opera and sit down to applause. Music starts. Eva and Juan enjoy the music until, suddenly, Eva doubles over in pain and starts gasping for breath. )
The depth of her want of evil is seen at the end of her soliloquy:
Next, the Cheshire cat is a supernatural aide as well for Alice. The Cheshire cat is rather poetic with everything he says and his advice to Alice gives off a poetic vibe. The supernatural part about the cat is that he enjoys disappearing and reappearing at random times. In Tough Alice, the Red and White Queens symbolized supernatural aides for Alice. There’s no such thing as a red or white queen which indicates that Alice is dreaming. Second, the red and white queens were seen as guidance this time around in Wonderland by saying things like “We are only present, not truly here,” “And you are your own future,” “You are a tough child” and “You figure it out (page 7-8, Yolen)”. This considered the queens to be aides towards Alice. To make it out of Wonderland this time, she had to learn to fight her own demons.
She’s really evil,” yes I
“Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a slowly progressive disease of the brain that is characterized by impairment of memory and eventually by disturbances in reasoning, planning, language, and perception.” (Howard Crystal) In Health 1000 we were asked to read the book Still Alice. I have never dealt with or have done any study on Alzheimer’s disease before reading this book. After finishing this book it has really opened my eyes to how bad of a disease and how it cripples the mind. I never imagined the effect of this disease on a patient and the patient family. This book is about a upper middle aged lady named Alice who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and how she and her family learn how to deal with disease. One of the things this book
In the book Still Alice the main character is diagnosed with hereditary early onset Alzheimer’s, this means that she inherited the disease from her parents and likely passed it on to her children. My grandfather also suffered from hereditary early-onset Alzheimer’s, which means my mom; aunt, cousins, siblings and I may or may not have the Alzheimer’s gene. Alzheimer’s is a progressive degenerative irreversible brain disorder with no cure to date. Early onset Alzheimer’s patients can start showing symptoms as young as 30.
What would you do if a beautiful queen tried to deceive you with beauty and magic? In the book the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe the white witch deceived and used people for her scheme. The queen ruled Narnia with manipulation, merciless, and hatred. The queen used innocent people for her schemes.
Alice can be very childish, but throughout the story, she encounters many animals with human qualities that make her change her perspective of the world she lives in. The main obstacle in Alice's life is growing up. As she grows up, she looks at situations in a very distinctive way, such as the moment when alice meets the March Hare, The Mad Hatter, and the Dormouse. By the time the story is over, Alice is already a grown up because of all the experiences she confronted such as, the mad tea party, the encounter with the caterpillar smoking a hookah pipe, also Alice's encounter with the Red Queen during the croquet game and the trial.
She is the one who now controls them and it is all to her own benefit. Alice seemed to be a self-loving and powerful woman, she went through life being unattached to men and people’s views of her. Alice did not marry for love, but for her own prosperity. “It was easy to believe the worst of him.” [about her first husband] “was a passport to the set whose recognition she coveted”
I saw Still Alice this week. I wanted to see the Glen Campbell movie (which I will watch later) but opted for this one first. What a stirring movie! Watching the progression of her decline, and realizing that she KNEW that she was affected, was very sad. It was heartening to see the support that her family gave her, even while dealing with their own issues. The fact that she was proactive on the front end, in obtaining the diagnostic testing helped her family be better able to understand what was happening and to support her. I love the fact that she and her daughter were able to have a better relationship, and that her daughter was truly able to see her mom, even when her mom had trouble seeing her earlier.
My life was flashing before my eyes, I was realizing what was happening death was coming. Cold and stillness filled the room while the feeling of death started to overtake my body it was a different feeling but it had to come. My limbs felt heavy and I thought real slow everything was slowing down. Just then something odd happened like nothing I ever thought some sound came into the room an annoying buzzing creature.
