Persuasive Essay Rough Draft Criminals.Murders.Drug Dealers.Mass Shooters.Terrorists. Are these people the citizens of the United States would want in their country? Currently, the path the United States is on, these few topics are going to become more and more familiar to citizens and all from one reason; illegal immigration. Roughly 12 million of the United States population are people in our country illegally, and are causing crime rates to rise and are not paying taxes nor contributing to any government funding. Yes, we essentially are paying for these people to live here in the U.S. We can’t forget the thousands of Syrian Refugees that are being welcomed into the United States with no problem. We know nothing about these people entering our country…not one thing. The United States Government needs to take a step back and look at the big picture and figure out, one, how are these illegals entering our country, two, how can we keep them out, and three, why are we letting some enter with no problem. Letting someone you know nothing about in your home sounds creepy…doesn’t it? This is what the United States is doing with illegal immigrants.
As a country, the United States need to generate methods on how to prevent illegals from crossing the border and reduce the numbers of

As a whole the United States can create programs to give background checks to ensure that immigrants are safe. They can provide new deals to grant citizenship through a process to certain people, or they can deport those that don’t belong in our country. With these processes, it is a step in the right direction toward making the the country a safer place. Now I’m not saying the our country even the entire world will be 100% crime and terrorist free, but with one step at a time we as one great nation can come closer to achieving this
The immigration patterns of the United States have fluctuated over the years, some years having little while others see a rising amount of immigrants, both legal and illegal, looking for opportunities to improve their lives. The amount of illegal immigration is a problem since many take advantage of the social services provided by the government without contributing towards the country since they are not citizens and many people see these illegal immigrants as a threat to their employment. Illegal immigrants do affect the U.S negatively in a number of ways, but if those illegal immigrants were to have a safe passageway towards gaining citizenship, the immigrants would contribute greatly towards the
Illegal immigration to the U.S. is out of control. Almost 20% of the world’s international migrants flock to a nation that consists of less than 5% of the world’s population. This is a huge threat to our security. Some people believe the threat is miniscule, because illegal immigrants commit crime at the same or a lower rate than native-born Americans, and it is unfair to deny a large group of people citizenship because of the crimes of a few. Law
All around the world terrorism has increased tremendously. There have been recent terrorist attacks in Spain, London, Paris, and Berlin and that has made the United states question their safety. “Mass migration has caused terror attacks across Europe and is responsible for the recent bloodbath in Nice where 84 people were slaughtered, according to senior Hungarian politicians”(Christy's 1). Illegal immigrants
America has the largest illegal-immigrant population in the world. As a country we are not doing much to stop it. According to the Pew Research Center, there were approximately 5.7 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. in 1995. As of 2014, there are around 11.3 million living in America. Immigration is vital to this country. Unless you are 100% full blooded native, somewhere down your family’s history you immigrated to this county. It is evident that something needs to be done to fix our immigration system, but what? Strengthening our borders, and deporting illegal immigrants are not long term solutions to the United States’ problem. By passing legislation and making simple changes to our immigration and naturalization policy,
Micah Issitt and Andrew Walter define immigration as the “movement of persons from one nation or region to another with the purpose of seeking permanent residence.” Unfortunately, illegal immigration has become more prominent in the U.S. arousing debates on what to do with the illegal migrants. The 9/11 attacks on the twin towers were caused by terrorists, who penetrated our weak borders to gain access to their planned attack. Under the Obama era, two and a half million more immigrants have crossed the border illegally than during Bush’s reign in office, which shows how our border is becoming more and more vulnerable. If the borders are not secured soon, more and more migrants will come illegally and take jobs from legal Americans, also
Illegal immigration has become more of an important issue in the United States since Donald Trump’s campaign for president in 2016. Immigration can be known as the act of people crossing national borders to live permanently in other countries. It becomes illegal when they cross those borders without the legal right to be in those countries. The U.S. has been an immigrant country since the pilgrims in the 1600s and has ever since, been diverse. Most of the immigrants are Latinos that come from Central America, but they also come from all over the world. The current path to legal citizenship is flawed and needs to be reformed to allow rights to be upheld, equal and fair treatment of all applicants, and to facilitate the process altogether.
Illegal immigrants have been a hot topic lately due to the popularity of this topic amongst the Republican Presidential Nominees, especially Donald Trump. These illegal immigrants bring various things to this country when they come. Some things are positive, such as a family simply seeking to find a better life, while some things are harmful to the United States, such as the amount of crime among illegal immigrants. In July 2015, the most recent estimate of illegal immigrants was 11.2 million. This same data shoes that 56 percent of all deportations last year were convicted criminals, which accounted for 177,960 individuals (Shoichet, 2015). Crime among illegal immigrants is a problem, and sanctuary cities, which are supposed to be a solution, may be making this problem worse.
Unauthorized immigrants in the United States of American border control has being a big problem and concern with regards to national security. There are a lot of people from various countries that want to migrate into United States for so many individual reasons known to them. The United States is a country known for countless jobs which other nations don’t have. A great number of immigrants, however, want to move away from their government reason because the government doesn’t treat them right just the way they want to be treated. For that reason, they move to the United States because they want
In 2011, it was calculated that over 40 million immigrants lived within the United States (figure 1-1). Among those forty million individuals, a reported 11.1 million are illegal (figure 1-2)1. It is clear that we need to create a plan of attack to address this large number of people living in this country illegally. There are essentially three avenues that we could travel down in order to complete this task. Either the United States could provide an easier path for citizenship for these people, or we could allow them to stay in the country without becoming citizens through work visas or permits. The third option is to increase the level of enforcement and implement laws that would assist in the deportation of these
Undocumented immigration has faced an exception in America but it faces its biggest challenge. Making it easier for terrorism if we don’t face to a solution to compromise. More than 10 million immigrants live in the U.S. because it is open to better jobs (Kane 1). Although, many of these immigrants are not criminals it is affecting America’s security. With several undocumented immigrants in America there is a distortion in our resources that are being used by the several unknown residents. The Heritage Foundation states there are no security threats to us but there are terrorist and criminals out there that we are unaware of. In order to make America more safe an immigration policy needs to be intact with the law. In the other hand, also giving the migrants a life they deserve. This means amending to the document to a more appropriate manner. Numerous solutions have been put into place to focus efforts on improving the border security, identification and establishing a work program.
Border patrol/immigration has become a huge topic in not only the United States government, but also to the everyday people. Not only has immigration and border security become a main issue in the last presidential election in 2016 it has also become a main topic for the safety of the citizens of the United States Of America. This is becoming a huge problem because currently there are “10 million illegal immigrants in the United States and this number is growing by 700,000 each year.” (Pearce, 1) Why are these numbers so high? It is because we do not have the right amount of security at our borders in America “On one hand, the presence of so many aliens is a powerful testament to the attractiveness of America. On the other hand, it is a sign of how dangerously open our borders are.” (Johnson, 1) as American citizens, we should be fighting for a
Our nation, the nation of nations, the greatest nation of all has its flaws. From equality control to the staggering crime rate, many things about this country throw out red flags. Some of the issues, such as the crime and drug problem, may never be diminished. However, some of these issues are easier to solve. One of these issues that are right in front of our eyes as a nation is border control. Through mass deportation, the building of a large wall, and the increase in border patrol officers, the borders of America will be protected once
The number of illegal immigrants have gone up over the past years drastically "In 2011, there were 40 million immigrants in the U.S. Of that 11.1 million were illegal." Although the number of illegal immigrants has leveled off it still is a continuing problem that should be attended to. In the next few years the number of illegal immigrants will continue to increase. "United Nations reported that 97% of the illegal immigrants who enter the U.S. Clandestinely across the nearly 2,000 mile Mexico border, but only 20% of those are caught." This proves that our border is our weakest link of our security system . This proves that immigrants are crossing the border into the U.S. And getting away with it. To prevent this something needs to be done and improve and strengthen the the Mexico border soon. With more and more illegal immigrants entering the country, the number of immigrants will continue to climb and crime rates will rise also. If something is not done soon it will eventually become to big of a problem to handle. studies show that the population of illegal immigrants is increasing and it is becoming a bigger problem every year and needs to be attended to to make the
The United States of America has always been a refuge where poor and oppressed people from the far corners of the world can come to begin a new life. Much of the nation’s allure to prospective immigrants is in its promise of equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, or color. But the pressures of rising unemployment rates, congested cities, a crippled healthcare system, and national debt skyrocketing out of control have caused America to defend her borders against the influx of immigrants that threaten her already ailing economy. Still, despite all the heightened security measures incorporated in recent decades, a steady stream of immigrants continue to enter the country illegally. The Washington Times reports that there are
Many immigrants come to the United States in search of the opportunity to have a better life. They have the willingness to work, seek out educational opportunities and to be productive members and contributors to society. Rarely do you find those instances where immigrants come here to take, destroy all that our nation has built and established. When you hear the current administration in the media use fear, as part of cultural destructiveness to destroy how our society view other cultures and diminish the worth of individuals within their own Netting, Kettner, McMurtry, Thomas, (pg. 64, 2012). By doing that the narrative around immigrants’ changes, people start to believe that immigrants are here committing crimes and a higher rate in comparison to Americans that are born here; For instance, during one of Donald’s Trump 2016 campaign speeches he said “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re
