Shooting a basketball involves many steps. To shoot a basketball a hoop is needed. So, go to a gymnasium at school, rec center, or even your driveway. Grab a basketball and dribble a few times to get comfortable with the basketball before shooting the basketball. Go to a spot closer to the hoop, like the left or right block on the marked court. It is a square shape located on the floor of the gym. After finding the blocks or the place you choose to shoot from, the first thing you should do is line your foot up to the basket. If you are left-handed, your left foot should be lined up to the basket. If you are right-handed, your right foot should be lined up to the basket. Once you have lined your dominant foot up, the other foot that is not lined
The first, most important, step when shooting a basketball is the alignment of your feet. Your feet, if you are a right handed shooter, should be slightly turned and pointed toward the left side of the basket. Instead of having both of your feet pointed straight at the basket, you want to have the right side of your body in line with the basket.
Basketball was my favorite sport growing up. I’ve played since I was little and I still play the game today. I played basketball at my elementary school, St. Cecilia, from Kindergarten till 8th Grade and also played AAU basketball for about 2 years before entering High School. Going into my freshmen year of High School, the first sport I played was basketball. Tryouts began in about the start of November and ended about 2 weeks after. I had made the Freshmen A team. I was excited and as the season progressed, we didn’t win many games but I still had fun playing. Nearing the end of the season, golf was another sport coming up that I also wanted to try and play. I say “try and play” because at the time, I was also going to play AAU basketball. I had set in my mind that I was going to play basketball for all of my four years of high school, but my parents pushed me to tryout for golf. When the basketball season ended, golf tryouts started. Tryouts lasted for about 2 weeks, and I made the JV team. When I found out I made the team, I was very surprised. I hadn’t put in the hard work as others before tryouts came around, but the coach saw potential in me and that I can become a great player. The coach saw so much potential in me, that every week, I kept progressing in skill and fine tuning my mechanics. Halfway through the season, about 4 or 5 weeks after I made the team, my coach gave me the chance to play with the Varsity Golf team for a couple days. I was excited and eager to
To perform the jump shot make sure that your foot is flat on the floor, with your body facing the basket. A low crouch will give you enough momentum to make the jump shot. Also make sure that both of your hands are on the ball, rise up with your foot and prepare to shoot. The hand that you shoot with should cup the ball and point towards the basket. And your other hand that you don’t shoot with can gently guide the shot from the side of the ball. Make that your body is straight not bent as the shot will not be accurate and it will be an air ball. Extend your arms fully; your fingers should end up looking at the floor as you will flick the ball.
People have been playing basketball since 1891. The way that basketball has been played has changed quite a bit, especially how someone shoots a basketball. It started out with having players feet squared to the basket at shoulder width apart as the way everyone shot or taught it. Now more and more people are learning to shoot with their feet turned away from the basket and using an armband that prevents a player from using their guide hand to help them threw the motion of there shot.
Okay now that you know the steps it is time to review them. From beginning to end first comes the eyes on target, stance and balance, and the shot pocket. Then the next steps are; grip, the balance of hand, and the delivery. After you release the ball comes the upforce and landing, and lastly the follow through. Before you try it you need to forget about your original shot that you started out with. Now that you know these it's time to go out and try them for yourself. There is no exact way to shoot a basketball but there is a fundamentally correct way it's time to master it.

The sport of basketball is known as a fun past time for any person young or old. Basketball is a great way of exercise and a great way to have fun with friends and possibly make some new ones. I love to watch and play the game, basketball is a very entertaining sport and can be played by anyone. Basketball has many negative and positive things about it based on my opinion. Basketball is known as a good pastime in many people’s eyes but can also be seen as a passion for many others. Basketball in my opinion the best thing I can do with my friends to have fun while burning a few calories. I see basketball as a fun and easy way to have fun rather than sitting on the couch all day playing video games or watching television. One reason I love
My nerves were raging as I thought, “Is everything going to be okay? Will I be able to play another game of my senior year?” I couldn’t stop thinking about what might happen. Images were racing through my head as I thought about my teammates having to go on to play without me. I couldn’t understand why I had to let them handle it on their own. We had played together since we were in the fourth grade, and when they needed me the most, all I could do was sit and cheer. I hated the feeling of helplessness, but at the same time, I knew I had to do all that I could do to help.
It was my final high school game at Chino Hills with my best friend Lonzo Ball. It was the State Championship against Mater Dei. College scouts were scattered over the whole stadium! I want to impress the UCLA scout because Lonzo had committed there and i want to play basketball with my best friend. If i could get scholarship to UCLA it would be amazing.
“Pop”! I collapse on the cold hard floor as immediate pain rushes to my left knee. All I manage to utter are groans as my friend asks if I’m okay and tries to lift me off the ground. I limp off in his arms as I’m assisted to the nearest bus stop. Once I’m off the bus I observe that I’m limping badly and my knee is swollen to the size of an orange. A little voice in my head told me this wasn’t the common mishap that happens during basketball. It told me I wasn’t going to be able to slap on an ice pack and be okay the following day. However, I temporarily disregarded this voice, and, being the optimistic person that I am, hoped for the best. I figured I would be back to normal within weeks. This wasn’t the case. My mother eventually decided
I clutch the right side of my stomach where the butterflies are relentless. My finger tips drag along the cold brick wall occupied by vibrant posters advertising bake sales and dances. Past the pool, the strong stench of chlorine stings my watery eyes. As we approach the gym, the thumping of basketballs on the floor sends a chill down my spine. At the end of the hallway, a smiling blonde lady sits with her arms crossed at a wooden table. The pressure to be perfect floods my mind.
In the 9th grade I was new to high school and was kind of scared with the new adjustments to school work, a new atmosphere, and so many distractions ahead of me. During the first quarter I had adjusted to the work load and stayed focus. One day my friends and I were talking about sports and it got me thinking about if I could manage school and sports. One of my friends suggested that I should try out for the junior varsity basketball team. Before high school the last time I played on a basketball team was in 4th grade, but it wasn’t organized.
“ Are you ready for your field trip today,” asked Mrs. Granger, Brad’s mom. Best friends Brad and Kyle were going with their 4th grade class on a field trip to the Sports History Museum.
“10 seconds to get to baseline”coach cannon say’s.Everyone rush to baseline as fast as they can.He approaches us and give us an ugly mean mug.
Summer time means time spent in swimming pools. It is a great way to stay in shape, cool off, and have a great time. It is something that everyone looks forward to if they have a pool in their yard. They wait on it to get warm enough to get in and then when the water temperature hits “go” then everyone runs to dive in. The problem is, after that first dive, the enjoyment loses a little something and by mid-summer, barely anyone is “thrilled” to get in. If that is the way it works in your home as well, it may be time to consider ways to add fun to your swimming pool so that your family can enjoy the great outdoors for the entire summer.
