Today I have the honor of introducing you to Hannah Kate Huber. She comes from a small town in Illinois called Elmwood where she grew up in a family of five. It was her, her two older brothers, Andrew and Nick, along with her parents, Steve and Eileen. When she was younger she would love to play on the basketball and softball team, which she would receive help from her father and brothers for. The reason she was so interested in these sports is because her whole family has loved staying active and she had great teams that supported her. The decision to come to St. Ambrose wasn’t a hard one since her brother, [insert name], also attends this school. It also met requirements she was looking for in a college such as not being too big or too small
Allyson’s high school activities include varsity cheerleading on the football, basketball, and competition squad. Playing clarinet in the band for the past five years, she is very active in local honors bands including All County, Solo and Ensemble, OMEA District 3 band and All-Ohio State Fair band. Allyson participates in high school choir, and is a part of mixed ensemble. She is a two-year member of Arcadia track and field team. Furthermore, is a member of the National Honor Society, and now a lifetime member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Her community activities include volunteering at The Old Time
Another aspect of Stephanie’s life is partnering with The Dream Center of Lakeland. She pairs Fire Athletics with a local outreach and serves the community. It is not a glamorous part of her life and is a lot of work but, it is obvious that it is an important and impactful part of her life. She is willing to give her time to help others and connect her community, such as Southeastern, with other ones, like Crystal Grove. It is very admirable, that someone with such a busy schedule, takes time to give back and be involved in the community; that speaks volumes about her character.
Sarah Merryman spent the first fourteen years of her life in Long Island, New York. After moving to West Lafayette, Indiana in 2010, she underwent the challenge of adapting to the American Midwest. In the process forming a new life, she experienced several new adventures such as playing third-baseman on the girls’ softball team. After spending a gap year following high school graduation, Sarah entered the world of higher education by enrolling in Ivy Tech Community College with the intent of earning an associates degree in liberal arts. Pleasantly surprised that she survived her first year of college, Sarah has spent her second year at Ivy Tech taking advantage of every leadership opportunity available on campus. Her current experiences as
The first thing on the agenda of my visit was my official tour of the school. As I walked around the main campus I began to picture myself as part of the pack. With each new building I saw, the more I fell in love with the school. Everything from the glowing red-bricked education buildings to the exquisite student building, Talley Student Union. After I had walked the magnificent campus, it was time for my meeting with the head coach, Bryan Bunn. I had never met Coach Bunn or even talked to him, only email. When I stepped into his office with my mom every one of my senses was heightened. I could hear my heart beating out of my chest. I could hear every pipe that had water running through
I hope the week is treating you well and you enjoyed your Memorial Day holiday. Attached is the May 2016 Digital Reports which we will review in greater detail on our weekly call Monday morning.
I have known Natalie Schieuer for almost half a year now, and in that time I have been incredibly pleased to meet such an amazing, talented, and brilliant young lady. I was Natalie’s counselor this summer at Nebraska Girls State. Girls State is a week-long camp, aimed towards education of state and local government. 400 of Nebraska’s top emerging high school juniors are chosen to attend this program, and within these numbers, Natalie still managed to shine through with her accomplishments and wit.
“Like having bonus kids. Didn’t intend on having them but don’t wanna give them back.“ Chris said about having stepkids. Chris Becker also has a son named Tyler Becker. He isn’t his blood related son either. He was adopted when he was about nine years old maybe a little bit younger or older. He was married to Tyler’s birth mom, but she later made wrong choices and Tyler was taken away from her. Chris then adopted him. Chris is very thankful to have the experience of having kids, and in some ways he felt it was hard to raise three kids all at different ages. He said “We’re always worrying about them. It will never go away it, just won’t. They are little humans running around the house not able to take care of themselves depending on us. Look at Tyler, he is twenty-two years old, I still worry about him. It never goes away because you raised them their whole life, little on up. Not being able to do it themselves. It’s a good kind of worry though. It’s really hard to explain, you’ll understand it when you’re older and have kids.”
VI. When I was born he taught me to be the strongest person I could be and to do my absolute best at everything I try.
Nine years ago, I never could have imagined I’d be writing this essay. I was a senior in high school, and, like the rest of my classmates, I was apprehensive about the future. Unlike my classmates, I felt like I had missed the proverbial “you need to get your life together” message. I watched my classmates apply to colleges, their majors already decided and their future careers mapped out. While I was an above average student, I felt I lacked the decisiveness my classmates seemed to have. I did not feel passionate about a career or even a field of study. I felt defective. This was compounded by the financial strain I knew attending college would have on my family. It seemed wasteful to try to “find my passion” at school while squandering
Anyone can eat soul food on any particular day of the year. However, it is something distinctive about preparing and eating soul food on Thanksgiving Day. Soul food is considered to be fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, breaded fried okra and yams. The preparation and consumption of soul food have been a staple in my family’s tradition for many generations. Perchance the food tastes better because of the cool crisp air, or maybe it’s the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. I honestly don’t know why, but I feel like this should be a paten scientific theory. Everything just feels right on this day, as if the world halts for a split second and it is at harmony. Possibly that is why the food is cooked to perfection. Even the process of preparing the meal is practically better than eating the food.
I. Thesis I would like to share with you all, someone in my life who has influenced me greatly, my grandma Isidora Palacios. Without a doubt my grandma is my, number one fan, best friend, counselor and my biggest inspiration she is completely amazing. I can only hope and pray that one day I'm at least half the amazing woman she is! She can fall 100 times and she will get back up 100 times again with confidence and a smile on her face. BODY Life Summary A.
Last night a women stopped Jessica as she was closing up the office about the Blue Bus key. Jessica called me to see if I knew who had it last. Jessica said that the women who stopped her said she was was China, she also stopped her as she was closing up again to let her know that spoke with Rob and that he used the blue bus 3 weeks ago.
She joined the pathfinders her first semester and through that organization worked for the office of admissions and financial aid. She also has been an active member in the animal lovers club, running club, society of bioengineers and red cross club. Hannah has worked hard to successfully create a positive balance between her schoolwork and outside the classroom activities – something that many freshman struggle with. As an active member of the University of Pittsburgh community, she has a diverse repertoire of extra curricular
Thank you for joining us today as the City of Mobile participates in the Race for the Cure Walk in celebration of October Cancer Awareness Month. This is a special occasion for many reasons but the most significant is that we have chosen as a community to make a difference and to show our own ability to be heroes. People define heroism in so many individualized ways and the world is full of heroes that make a significant impact and have admirable traits of all kinds. Our own designated heroes affect our mindset and influence our thoughts and our actions. It is powerful and influential. To me, a true hero changes the world and provides hope and peace in the most difficult situations.
