At first, Neptune was the god of water, but later, this was extended to include the sea when he became associated with the Greek god, “Poseidon”.

Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. The deep blue color of Neptune comes from its atmosphere. Neptune also has a system of rings. Neptune’s rings are made of ice particles coated with carbon-based materials, giving them a reddish color or shade. Neptune sometimes shows a dark spot known as “the great dark spot”.
