Personal Statement for Megan Pulley My life is a mission, a mission of touching people in any way positive that I can. I desire to show people that no matter the circumstances or where you grew up, you are the one who determines your future, no one else. By mastering the ability to live amply in every situation, I can thrive on almost nothing or with everything and that adaptable nature will make me an exceptional nurse. Part of being successful and having substantial character, is to maintain a hard work ethic, compassionate heart and high moral principles. My vision is to heal patients, while also empowering them. I have developed thorough communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills while closely monitoring my patients. Due to the nature of the job it has taught me to have a sense of urgency in emergency situations, remarkable critical thinking skills on short notice and to always pay attention to detail. I absolutely love working with people and if one thing makes me happy it is positively changing the lives of others even if it’s only a reciprocated smile. By giving myself to the betterment of people’s lives in my community, I have made it a better place. I have volunteered as a counselor for children who are dealing with cancer at Camp Millennium. To see the kids partially forget the pain and struggle they are burdened with gives me unexplainable joy because here they can just be kids. I also take pride in feeding the homeless, being an international student mentor and an advocate for the Humane Society. These experiences subjected me to a variety of different cases while teaching me to further appreciate diversity and the uniqueness in every
