Aimbriel, I do not eat pork either, and only a limited amount of red meat. Honestly, I thought about giving up eating meat all together. However, for now I still like turkey, chicken, and fish. I like your menu, and the fact that you included the oils and drinks. Unfortunately I forgot those on my menu, but I drink water most of the day anyways. Natalie
Service users should always have the freedom to make choices about food and drink, thus the carer has to support them to make these choices, also taking into consideration dietary issues (possible allergies, diabetes, food intolerance) and prohibited foods due to medication (e.g. cranberry when on Warfarin). This information, as well as the medication is included in the care plan.
‘Food Inc’, is an informative, albeit slightly biased, documentary that attempts to expose the commercialisation and monopolisation of the greater food industry. The film attempts to show the unintended consequences resulting from this, and for the most part this technique is very effective; however there is an overreliance on pathos in lieu of facts and statistics at times.
Introduction: Hello my name is xxxxxxx xxxxxx and I am an Eating Disorder Counselor. Today I will be discussing the physiological reasons for eating or not eating and then I will open the floor for discussion.
There has always been a negative remark towards people that choose not to eat meat. I have been a pescartrain, a person that abstains from eating any meat except fish, for three years and most of the time people tend to either assume that I want to lose weight or try to convince me that it is an unhealthy lifestyle. They always say, “you aren 't getting enough protein”, or one of my personal favorites, “so, you only eat salad?”. As absurd as it sounds, I get asked this multiple times either from people I just met and even my family. People often stereotype vegetarians as skinny and extremely fit; however that is not the case. Adapting to non-meat eating lifestyle can be difficult; however there are many benefits. Even though many people assume vegetarians do not get enough protein, becoming a vegetarian can decrease the chances of certain cancers and heart diseases.
I am one of many concerned students at this school who are wanting to make a change. The problem had came to my attention during my class period when we are on this topic about obesity, and how it is a growing problem in america. This is a result of unhealthy lunches and students wanting to go off campus to get fast food because they would rather eat that then school lunches myself included. I have thought about an idea to maybe solve this problem at my school and hopefully will help other schools too.

I am writing this letter to vent my grievance about our current food here on center. I do not like the food that we are served here. There is not much diversity in the selections we have on a day to day basis. I wished you would take into consideration to having food that is served in our homes. African students are accustomed to having cooked rice with every meal in our homes. Since coming to the center we have not had rice served with any meals. I think that if you were to look to diversify the food here the international students would feel more at home here. A great deal of us feel as if we are subjected to contemporary American foods only. I hope that you consider doing this for us in the future. Thank you for your time.
