Being an FBI (Federal Bureau of investigation) agent is a lot more complicated than everyone thinks. What i wanna know the meaning of FBI, what education you have to have, what they investigate , and how the FBI really works. I have chosen this topic for my report because when i’m older i wanna be a criminologist. So you ask, What is the FBI all about?, well I will tell you. The FBI doesn't just mean “Federal Bureau of Investigation” each of those words also have a meaning to give you more of a detailed meaning. So in that case, the word “federal” refers to the national government of the United States. Along with that, “ Bureau” in more detail is department or division of government. Now, the word investigation is pretty much self explanatory, it's what they do. As you can may or may not tell the FBI is an important job. The FBI’s mission is to “protect american people and uphold the United States Constitution.” About 35,000 people work for the FBI, but that also includes special agents, intelligence analysts, language specialists, scientists, and information technology specialists. Well in the article “Here's what it’s REALLY like to work for the FBI”, Jacquelyn Smith interviews Gary Noesner. Here is what Gary stated it took to get hired, “I had to complete an application. The FBI then had to do a background investigation, you had to pass a physical fitness test, and there was a knowledge test.
