Little John is lazy and out of shape while living in the sheriff’s castle. One morning Little John is settled in bed sleeping in and suddenly he hears Robin’s bugle and reminds him to come home. Little John gets in a huge argument with the Stuart about breakfast. This causes the Cook to come in the kitchen. The Stuart offers the Cook money and a bottle of wine if he can ‘teach Little John a lesson”. The two fights for an hour and Little John stops the fight to ask the Cook to join him and become one of Robin Hood’s merry men. The Two head to Sherwood Forest, but first they take all of the sheriff’s silver plates. Robin is not pleased with Little John for stealing from the sheriff. Little retrieves back to the sheriff to take him to “a place he has never seen anything like it”. Little John brings the sheriff to Robin Hood and He dines with the sheriff again except on his silver plates. After the dinner Robin gives the plates back to the sheriff and send him on his
This is the place that changed Robin as a person. Sister Rachel found him in a sketchy part of town bleeding out from a knife fight. She took him back to the orphaned and nursed him to health. When Robin was younger he did not think he could do anything, but be a thug because his parents died early. Sister took him in and changed his outlook on life: “ I believe you must be naturally good at something in order to find your calling… for example, and I cared about people, especially children, and that’s how I found my calling” (Sullivan 115).
Throughout the article there were plenty of characters that were compared, real to mythical, and there were also legends told that could have been or may not have been true. One of the characters that stood out to me was Jesse Woodland James, the well-known in the old west for bank robberies, train robberies and murder when he killed a banker mistakenly thinking the banker was responsible for the shooting of Bloody Bill. However what caught my attention was the accusations of Jesse James taking from the wealthy and giving back to the poor. Although, there was no proof for this, it was compared to the mythical-being known as Robin Hood. Who was also known as an outlaw in the English Folklore, as well as taking from the higher class and giving back to the lower class. Just as Jesse James sent impudent messages to Pinkerton detectives and newspapers, Robin Hood did the same sending letters to the sheriff of Nottingham. However, with actuality, Jesse James and his gang had prices on their heads for the crimes they committed in which he paid the ultimate price for and was shot dead in his own home by Robert
These lines from a poem about Robin Hood, written by Daniel Koschalka describe him, “Listen, To this famous tale of a brave outlaw, Who loved stealing gold from England’s rich, And giving it out to England’s poor.” (Koschalka, Lines 1-4). Robin would face many dangers as the powerful English people had many resources available to attempt to capture Robin and his men, but Robin ignored this and continued to help the poor people of England. When confronted, these heroes conquered their fears to assist their loved ones when they were in
Robin Hood faces a myriad of problems that can potentially influence the changes that are crucial for Robin’s organization, as well as affect the effectiveness of the insurrection. As the CEO of his organization, Robin has the
In Los Banos Community, I am pleasingly surprised that so many people are willing to help others. The Empty Bowls Organization celebrates 25 Years anniversary (Empty Bowls, n.d.). In the Empty Bowl fundraiser, participants receive the bowl that was created by community volunteers (children, school students, and adults) after they share a simple meal of soup together (Spevak, 2014). People appreciate the bowls and grace of the volunteers. “ In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). The Empty of Bowl is a wonderful gathering event because they share the moment of good deeds, have cheerful time together, and are helping the others. Essentially, children
Robin Hood is committed to his cause. For example, Will Scarlet tells Much, a young boy wanting to join Robin’s group, “It is for justice that we fight” (Green 16). In addition, after Sir Guy tells Robin Hood that he is surrounded and there is no escape, Robin replies, “That rests with God” (Green 119). Robin Hood puts his faith in God, knowing that only God knows whether they will escape. By having faith in God, he proves that he is committed to the Love of God.
It’s late at night, Billy Hodgson is standing near the door with his dog. When the door suddenly opens, his dog transforms into a creature from a nursery rhyme titled The Crooked Man. With fear and panic running through the young boy’s head, he dashes out of the room, being chased by the creature as he recites the nursery rhyme in which he is the main character of. Billy makes it to a room where his family is, petrified and mumbling about The Crooked Man. Many people deem that as a marvelous scene from the 2016 horror film, The Conjuring, directed by the new master of horror, James Wan.
Happy July 1st everyone! I decided to carve out a bit of the day today to compose a celebratory post in honor of Ms. Olivia deHavilland's 99th birthday.

ROBIN HOOD In the years of King Richard the Lionheart (1189-1199) there lived a brave and intelligent man called Robin Hood. He was a feared outlaw, who loved liberty and hated oppression. He took the law into his own hands and robbed the rich to give to the poor. People loved him and thought of him as a justice-maker. In time he acquired a heroic reputation and came to represent the ideal of heroism of his age. Stories about him and his closest friends Friar Tuck, Little John, and Maid Marian may be found in the time. They say that Robin Hood and his companions lived in Sherwood Forest, near Nottingham. They were called the ‘merry men’ and used to wear green clothes, a particular shade of green, called
While this would satisfy Robin personally, this would not provide a true solution to what the Merrymen seek. After the sheriff is dead there would be another person there to take his place that would continue to the same thing.
Robin and the Merrymen is a company who are in business to steal from the rich and give to the poor. The organization had begun as a personal interest to Robin, and has grown with allies and new recruits to become a very large organization. Robin is the head of all operations with few delegates who have their own specific duties.
The tale of Robin Hood has evolved into one of the greatest legends of all time and has fascinated the minds of all who have heard about it. The stories surrounding Robin Hood and his adventures took place in the forests of Sherwood and Barnsdale dating
A thief considered a hero. He was an excellent archer. Robin Hood was a hero in his time. While many believe he was a thief and a villain to the law, others feel he was a hero to the poor. Some people might say that Robin Hood stole from the government, and stealing is a crime, no matter what your cause is. They might also say that if people in this day and time stole from the rich and gave the money to the poor, they would be arrested because stealing is against the law. Finally, people who think Robin Hood was wrong in what he did might say that he betrayed his country.
In addition, Robin Hood needs downsize and refocus in how to drive his organization evolving a new way of thinking as opposed to how it was. In addition, conspiracy to overthrow the Sheriff is too risky. Moreover, Robin must introduce geographic diversification and product diversification.
