I. Introduction
A. When you're driving down the road and that mileage reading on your dashboard reaches 3000 what do you? The first thing that pops in your head is there goes another 50 dollars for an oil change. There are about 450 million cars that travel the streets and roads of the world (Automobile).
B. Almost everyone that owns a vehicle has had to take their vehicle in to a mechanic to get their oil change on their car. But there's another way to do this its called "DO IT YOURSELF".
C. I've been doing my own oil changes since I've owned my first vehicle. As well as every other vehicle that the own would allow me to do it on.

Consult your owner's manual for the exact location. iii. Step 3: Place the oil drain pan under the plug and loosen the plug with a socket wrench. Remember: turn counterclockwise to remove bolts. iv. Step 4: Remove the plug by hand. Be prepared for the rush of hot oil!

Typically, you will use 4 to 5 quarts of oil. Check your manual for the correct oil capacity. iii. Step 3: Replace the cap when you're finished. iv. Step 4: Run the engine for a minute, and then check the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary. v. Step 5: Check the area around the oil drain plug and the filter for oil leaks. Tighten the plug or oil filter if you find leakage (ehow.com).
III. Conclusion. A. I explained two main steps to change your oil in your vehicle. i. I explained the steps to draining the oil and changing the oil filter. ii. One should change their oil every three months or every 3000 miles to prevent buildup of corrosive byproducts of combustion which could erode metal parts and accumulation of dirt in the oil from debris caused by blow-by
