I am a fitting applicant for the Legislative Page Program for many reasons. One of them being that for the last 8 years of my school career, I’ve been actively involved in my school. I help out for sales and join many different club such as; The Forest of Reading, maker space, chess club. These extra – curricular activities have greatly developed my social skills, which would benefit me for this program. I’ve tried out for many teams and clubs in the past such as; Drama club, Volleyball team and the Robotics team. I tried out for these clubs to become an active member in my school. I do well in academics and in the arts such as music. I try to learn more about anything that I’m curious about by asking my family or my teachers.

In the leadership aspect, I have knowledge from workshops. I am able to be a leader without being controlling in small and large group activities. When working individually I am able to keep my self-control, with a teacher around or not. This includes acting in a respectful manor towards teachers and students. I treat all of my peers with kindness, respect

I am applying to Hofstra because I believe that the university can help me achieve my goals. From the time I was a young child, I knew I wanted to go into the medical field. While there is a long and difficult road ahead of me, I am sure that attending Hofstra University will help me go down that road.

OSAP, a program designed to benefit Ontario residents in need; they can apply to receive a Canada-Ontario integrated student loan through the Ontario Student Assistance Program or OSAP. The program was started back in the 1990’s, by the Ontario government to enable those with lower incomes to receive loans, grants and scholarships which allows them to have the ability to pay for their post secondary education.

My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of ‘Bottlecappers,’ a club advocating anti-drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today.

I joined HOSA freshmen year, looking for opportunities to explore new things and develop new friendships. I was hoping to expand my knowledge about health care careers in a fun and interactive setting, HOSA provided me with just that. HOSA gave me with the platform, which I was looking for to improve my knowledge about the health science field. I was able to compete at the state level in Greensboro, and at the national level in Nashville. For me, attending these competitions provided me with an experience that greatly increased my interest and knowledge of the medical field. Becoming a HOSA district officer would enable me to further enrich my experiences by becoming a better leader and communicator, by sharing my experiences with younger students who are interested in joining the health care field, and grants me to have a bigger impact in HOSA and in my community. Becoming a HOSA district officer will allow me to improve myself as well as bettering the lives of others.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my letter informing me that I was eligible to be part of the NJHS. Once I looked it over and saw that there was an essay part of the application, I thought it would be difficult to “brag” about myself considering I’m just a normal twelve year old who likes to sing, swim, and ride horses. While I was thinking about what I do to be an active part of the student body of Schindewolf Intermediate, it became a little less difficult to picture.
