Food is one of the important needs to survive. In addition, in 400 B.C. the Greek physician Hippocrates found the food effect on the human body. During the Victorian era, the nutrition was developed into the scientific and medically. Therefore, people started to create the health products and realized that they should watch what they are eating for their better quality of the lives. These data show the women have to take less than men. According to that, why women should eat less than men? Furthermore, the body size and muscle mass are the most effective factors to decide the amount of the intake calories. People have the hunger hormones, which are leptin and ghrelin. Leptin decreases the appetite, but ghrelin increases it. Ghrelin is produced from the stomach, and it raises with a person who has the anorexia nervosa, reduces in a person who has obesity. In addition, hormones are more effective for females, especially, when they are on the different phases of menstrual cycle and pregnancy. Ladies eat more or less during this period. Women eat less when estrogens go up, but they eat more when progesterone gets increased. The estrogens have three different types: Estrone, estradiol, and estriol. Estradiol is most involved hormones in fullness. Additionally, women eat sweets and salty food when their estrogen level is low. Moreover, the pregnant woman should eat good food, which includes the lean protein, vegetables and fruits, whole grains, dairy, and vitamins. In present day all around the world, society has certain expectations for the actions and behaviors of males and females. There are many factors in our everyday lives that contribute to the gender norms that society has set. This essay will discuss how situations in life can play a part in how people treat other people based on their gender. It is believed that males are the leaders of our world, but in present day woman can do as much as men can do. From The Journal of Marriage and Family, Hu states, “Differentiated gender roles in adulthood are rooted in one’s gender role socialization. In order to understand the persistence of gender inequalities in the domestic sphere, we need to examine the gendered patterns of children’s housework time.”(2015, P.1). Gender roles are society’s expectations of the proper behavior, attitudes, and activities of males and females that they must be taught. These roles define how females and males are viewed in society, their household, and workplace. In The Journal of Sports behavior by Hardin, he states, “Although gender role differences from biological and “Natural” exists in popular consciousness, research has long demonstrated that instead, many are long time socially constructed… Individuals understand their gender because they are given names and treated in particular ways, such as dress in pink for girls and blue for boys, that reflect social construction of gender. Bandura's social cognitive theory is key in understanding the factors in socialization”(2009, P.3). Bandura's theory of of social cognition is that behavior, environmental events, and cognitive factors are the main keys that shape attitudes and actions of an individual. Although, gender roles play a very big part in our society, specific genders are treated differently while dealing with peer influence, media influence, as well as employment.
For centuries now, women have been bombarded with an infinite amount of conflicting and overwhelming messages about what it means to be a woman and which behaviors are considered appropriate, especially regarding sexual behavior. Traditionally, women have always been defined in relation to men. Men are seen as strong, while woman are seen as weak. Men are superior and women are their subordinates. This is exemplified by the fact that “masculine” traits such as strong, non-emotional, and competitive are considered socially desirable traits, while “feminine” traits such as docile, emotional, and passive are not. We evidently live in a society that is not only sexist, but also undoubtedly racist. The white woman typically appears as virtuous and pure, while the woman of color typically appears as unclean and tainted. If the woman of color also happens to be poor, she appears as being even more worthless. Therefore, in the United States, femininity as a concept is inextricably linked with concepts of race and class. In the present paper, I discuss the effect that this is having on women and their sexuality, the events that have paved the traveled path towards gender equality, and current issues plaguing women today, such as the attack on our reproductive rights and our value as women.

The interrelated factors of the female athlete triad are energy availability, menstrual function, and bone mineral density each of which develops along a continuum. Each factor may progress to a point where it is a clinical condition such as an eating disorder. The three factors may be present together and have developed in sequence, low energy availability due to low energy (caloric) intake and high energy expenditure leads to amenorrhea that leads to osteoporosis, although each of these conditions can occur independently of the others. Whether alone or in combination with each other, when energy availability, menstrual function, and bone mineral density are comprimised they represent substantial health risks for the female athlete. Low
Women are underrepresented in the carbohydrate ingestion studies. There is a limitation of literature on sex differences in substrate utilisation during high-intensity exercise. In the past, research has shown that women oxidise fats and less carbohydrate compared to men. Women were able to consume more exogenous i.e. glucose drink compared to men. Although, recent research have indicated that women can adapt to the training (Tarnopolsky 2003). Study showed an improvement during the follicle phase of menustral cycle response to 60g/hr glucose solution. Pre-exercise meals with high GI foods (Stevenson et al 2006) has found that there is no difference in amount of fat and carbohydrates compared with

Adult men and women have different nutritional needs based on their occupation and activity level. Those who have sedentary jobs, can get away with eating a 1500-1800 calorie a day diet, without weight gain. However, those who work in field such as construction, cleaning, fitness instruction, etc..require a greater calorie intake of at least 2000-3000 calories daily. Women of child bearing age, must eat plenty of iron rich foods like cooked fish and poultry products, as well as spinach and other leafy green vegetables. Just before and during pregnancy, women have to pay close attention to the diet, as this can affect the health of the baby. Along with obtaining nutrients from all of the major food
Puritan and Early American society separated the male and women gender roles into two categories; men owned and undertook all the responsibilities while women were not allowed to posses anything leaving them with the job of keeping the household in order . Gender roles helped establish family structures due to the fact that families in the 1800’s were essentially the basis for all the institutions. For instants, institutions like the government, church, and the community relied on the gender roles to keep their associations in routine. Women and men were almost always separated for day to day tasks or meetings arranged by their towns. Quaker meetings were just one of many communities that separated the men to discuss judicial
Gender roles in any society dictates specific standards by which each individual (based on gender) is expected to act. Proper decorum based on sex, is manifested in the way men and women verbally express themselves, reason, act, and participate with each other. These differences in social expectations have impacted the way in which humanity perceives family responsibilities, job allocation, entertainment and even tangible products based on masculinity or femininity. Yet, based on the scientific principals set by Charles Darwin, evolution is inevitable. Gender roles in today’s culture seem to be obsolete. Socioeconomic factors have forced the hand of evolution, tarnishing the guiding lines of gender roles and responsibility. Society should evolve and stop trying to push the so-called typical gender roles because it can hinder the growth and development of today’s and the future’s society.
Americans watch an alarming amount of television starting from a young age. The average American watches five hours of television a day (Koblin 2016). This enormous amount of media input influences perceptions and is connected to cementing many things in people, such as gender roles. Gender roles are thoughts, actions, and feelings learned by a person fitting their gender due to cultural norms (Santrock 2016). Additionally, stereotypes appeal to people’s emotions and television shows are infamous for relying on them due to lack of time for character development (Signorielli 2001). Different television show categories reflect roles and representations of males and females in both
Food too much of it, we suffer, and too lack of it, we will suffer. Because of it human has lost their sanity and it’s the main cause of most health issues, which is eating disorder.
A common behavior that happens amongst women of middle-age is emotional eating. This occurs when women eat to hide their negative emotions. There are a few disorders that are related to emotional eating, which are important to know about to determine if the participant may have the disorder. That way it would be easier for the behavior to be change because of medicines to help. The first one is Binge-Eating Disorder (BED) where a person consumes an insane amount of food in one sitting. The second one is Night-Eating Syndrome (NES) where the person does not have an appetite during the day but then obsessively eats after 8pm, usually because of insomnia or frustration. Often times, Alexithymia which is translated as “no words for
Today we live in a world that continually stresses to us that, "All men are created equal." While this sounds great at face value, further inspection tells us that this is far from realistic and sadly may never be. One can examine any aspect of society whether it be race, religion, language, level of education, sexual orientation or economic status and notice that there are numerous characteristics and factors of identity that enable others to treat others differently. This truth may not be pleasant or make one feel all warm and fuzzy inside, however it is our society’s reality, however dismal it may be. Even if the statement above as to the equality of all men were true, how about women? Clearly women have made tremendous strides towards
